Meraas To Launch Hub Zero – Region’s First Immersive Entertainment Park At City Walk, A Premier Urban Lifestyle Destination In Dubai

Meraas, a Dubai-based holding company, has announced the launch of Hub Zero, the region’s first immersive entertainment park that is set to offer innovative experiences created in association with world-famous video game developers including Electronic Arts, Capcom, KONAMI, Microsoft and Square Enix.

Hub Zero will be located at CITY WALK, a premier urban lifestyle destination in Dubai, and is scheduled to open in the summer of 2016. The state-of-the-art indoor entertainment destination will comprise a total of 18 thrilling attractions, rides and experiential zones, with a substantial number exclusively developed for Hub Zero.

As the region’s first indoor theme park based on video games, Hub Zero is set to address the increasing global demand for innovative and distinct gaming experience. In 2014, the total consumer spend on the games industry was $22 billion[1]. The global market for video games was predicted to jump by 9.4 percent in 2015, with researchers predicting that at this pace global revenues will reach $107 billion in 2017[2].

In the ever-evolving entertainment industry, Hub Zero introduces a new dimension of electronic gaming by inviting visitors to immerse themselves in a vibrant virtual environment and delve into a world of their favourite gaming characters and ‘Live the Game’. Several rides will be powered by artificial intelligence and feature real-time engines to provide an unmatched interactive and non-predictive gaming experience.

Spread over an area of approximately 15,000 square metres on two floors, the immersive entertainment park will also feature an extensive e-Sports LAN gaming zone and a children’s play area. Furthermore, the three Hub Zero event rooms will offer a unique setting for private celebrations and get-togethers. Shopping enthusiasts will be offered a wide-ranging collection of Hub Zero and video game merchandise. City Walk, The Beach And Boxpark Set To Showcase Local Talent In Photography With ‘Urban Pixels’

CITY WALK, THE BEACH and BOXPARK are set to launch ‘Urban Pixels’, a one-of-a-kind photography competition that will offer hobbyists and amateur photographers in the region aged 12 and above a platform to showcase their talent.

Starting 3 March 2016, the unique outdoor destinations by Meraas will host the talent-spotting event in association with Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, the Emirate’s dedicated entity for heritage, arts and culture, as part of Dubai Art Season 2016. The event will draw on the expertise of a panel of award winning, international industry personalities to judge the entries.

In an effort to support amateur photographers and encourage them to capture the most evocative and well-composed images, a workshop will be hosted on Saturday, 19 March at THE BEACH. For more information, please email urbanpixels@meraas.ae.

To participate in ‘Urban Pixels’, candidates must capture images at one of the three lifestyle destinations, CITY WALK, THE BEACH or BOXPARK, and submit entries to www.CITYWALK.ae/competitions, www.THEBEACH.ae/competitions, and/or www.BOXPARK.ae/competitions. Submitted images must have resolutions above 2MB in order to qualify for the competition.

City Walk

Winners of the Urban Pixels competition will be selected based on the composition, creativity, originality and technical skills that have gone into their images. Adding to the excitement, Samsung is sponsoring a themed sub-category called the ‘Samsung Smartphone Category’. Upon registering, participants will be given the option to take part in the category by borrowing the latest Samsung Galaxy Smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S7, delivering brighter and sharper images, even in low light. Once the device is returned, each participant will be given the images they have captured for submitting into the competition.

Four finalists from 30 shortlisted entries selected as ‘Winner’, ‘Runner-Up’, ‘People’s Choice’ and in the ‘Samsung Smartphone Category’ will be announced at a special VIP Award Ceremony at CITY WALK on Monday, 4 April 2016. As a finale to the month-long initiative, the work submitted by the top 30 shortlisted entries including the winners will be displayed for public viewing from 5th – 16th April 2016.

Azizi Developments Launches Dhs.350 Million Royal Bay Residence Project On Palm Jumeirah

Dubai real-estate developer, Azizi Developments has announced the launch of Royal Bay Residence, an exclusive collection of 90 fully serviced luxurious residential apartments situated on the crescent of Palm Jumeirah, next to Anantara Hotel. The new project is part of company’s Dh4.5 billion development plan to build thousands of flats in Nakheel’s Al Furjan project and Palm Jumeirah. Overlooking the picturesque skyline of Dubai Marina, Hotel Atlantis and Burj Al Arab, among other landmarks, Royal Bay is offering home buyers a unique chance to secure a place in one of the few remaining developments on the eighth wonder of the world.

Alaa Masoud, Marketing Manager at Azizi Developments revealed that the company will participate at the forthcoming edition of International Property Show that will take place between 11 and 13 April 2016 in Dubai Convention and Exhibitions Centre.
