Amazing Dubai, the first-ever musical in English about Dubai, is set to premiere at the Madinat Theatre, Souk Madinat Jumeirah on Wednesday, 4th October. Featuring multi-national UAE based talent, Amazing Dubai is a spectacular telling of the Emirate’s journey from a small fishing community in the 1800s to one of the most modern metropolises in the world. Targeting tourists and residents alike, this hour-long musical with an upbeat script and sophisticated production promises to be Dubai’s new attraction. Amazing Dubai – The Musical will be Madinat Theatre’s resident show, performed twice a day, year-round.
Brian Wilkie, entrepreneur and Executive Producer of Amazing Dubai, first conceived the idea over a decade ago. A resident of Dubai for almost 40 years and a passionate theatre enthusiast, Brian wanted to create a show that challenges the stereotype of Dubai as being only shopping malls and beaches. Teaming up with Australian playwright, director and producer Alex Broun and award-winning writer-director Sanjeev Dixit, the show started to take shape in April this year. Work on the production started to gather steam with Madinat Theatre coming on board in June as the long-term venue partner.
Seems like yesterday that La Petite Maison opened its first restaurant in the UAE to great fanfare. But here it is, seven years later, the award-winning restaurant in Dubai continues to delight loyal patrons with its exceptional service and tantalising French-Mediterranean cuisine that honours heirloom recipes.
As La Petite Maison turns 7 this October, the restaurant is treating diners to a complete Niçois experience with signature dishes and the return of musical extravaganza The Troubadours, straight from the French Riviera. The much-loved musical ensemble, who return after having performed a rollicking show at the restaurant’s fifth anniversary, will once again charm guests for ‘one-night only’ on October 25, performing pieces from their eclectic repertoire at 8:30PM and 10:30PM.
Thursday nights will never be the same again, following the launch of Yi by YUAN, a brand-new ladies’ night concept introduced by the stylish Chinese hotspot at Atlantis, The Palm. Taking it’s meaning from the Chinese word for joy and harmony amongst women, Yi by YUAN will take place from 8:30pm until 11pm, serving all night complimentary cocktails as well as 30 per cent off a special YUAN menu, created exclusively by Executive Oriental Chef, David Pang.
The unique drinks concept will feature a weekly rotating menu of four signature cocktails, each an established classic with a fresh and modern touch. The first menu will include a YUAN Fizz, comprised of Absolut Mandarin, a fresh take on a Bloody Mary, a spicy Moscow Mule and YUAN’s take on the Cosmopolitan.
Tables will be secured in the YUAN bar on a first come, first served basis. For more information logo onto @Yuandubai on social media or call 044262626.
