Sheikh Mohammed\u2019s remarks came during the opening of \u2018Area 2071\u2019, at Emirates Tower, in presence of Dubai Crown Prince HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Future HE Mohamed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence H.E. Omar Al Olama, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai H.E. Abdulla Al Basti.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday we opened Area 2071, the interactive platform that gathers creative minds, and reflects partnership public and private sector, and innovators to develop creative solutions, implement ideas to serve humanity and design a better future for next generations,\u201d Sheikh Mohammed said. \u201cArea 2071 reflects the UAE\u2019s ambition to be a key player in building the future. It is an open laboratory to learn, develop ideas and experiences, and design the future, as well drafting a better future for humanity.<\/p>\n
The Area 2071 was inspired from Centennial Vision announced in March 2017 from a lecture by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. The aim is to strengthen the country\u2019s reputation and soft power, building Emirati values and ethics for coming generations, and improving the economy\u2019s productivity.<\/p>\n
The area will \u201cact as an umbrella\u201d to bring together entrepreneurs, start-ups, small and medium-sized businesses, and government programmes such as Dubai\u2019s Future Accelerators.<\/p>\n
Area 2071 will be the first of its kind in the world, and will serve as an incubator for the future, with global companies, services and laboratories coming together and integrating their efforts to develop innovative solutions and adopt new technology to meet future needs. Think tanks and labs will tackle challenges in various development sectors to accelerate their progress, and to provide a pioneering model for tackling these challenges for both the region and the world.<\/p>\n
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid was briefed about the projects and initiatives executed by Dubai Future Foundations since its inception two years ago, which included 15 initiatives such as Dubai 10X. His Highness was also briefed about \u201cMuseum of the Future\u201d, and \u201cThe Office of the Future\u201d.<\/p>\n
