Dubai Sports World (DSW), the region\u2019s largest indoor summer sports arena, hosted an incredible parade featuring world-class academies and sporting companies, to mark the official opening of the action-packed eighth edition of the summer sporting event. Running until September 8th<\/sup>, 2018 at DWTC, DSW will feature an unrivalled line-up of 18 sports and activities and 10 professional academies over the 16-weeks duration.<\/p>\n

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Hareb, Secretary General Dubai Sports Council,<\/strong> said: \u201cThe exciting display of sporting spirit and collaboration between different members of the community at the parade is a perfect example of what the UAE stands for; which is tolerance, respect, and togetherness. In fact, as we celebrate the Year of Zayed, it is important to remember that our founding father emphasized on inclusiveness and urged people of different nationalities, gender and religions to come together to create a vibrant society.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed to continuing his legacy and providing a platform for the residents and visitors to come together in an environment where they can play their favourite sports and enjoy new activities,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Multiple global and regional academies including LaLiga Academy, Prestige Star Sport Academy (PSSA), IFA Football Academy, Juventus Academy Dubai, Tennis 360, Professional Sports Academy (PSA), Deepika’s Badminton Academy, G-Force Academy, and Just Play are running training and development programmes for aspiring players this year.<\/p>\n

New to DSW, visitors will be hone their gymnastics<\/strong> skills, play street basketball<\/strong>, enjoy virtual golf<\/strong>, and Battle Park <\/strong>shooting games, spanning over a 750 square metres ground, featuring two themed fields – the laser-based iBattleField and iTarget, an electronic auto target system. Gold\u2019s Gym<\/strong>, one of the leading fitness centres in the Emirates also joins DSW this year, and will operate the state-of-the-art gym over the summer.<\/p>\n
