HE Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai\u2019s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has honoured winners of the 8th<\/sup> Safety Awards. He also honoured RTA\u2019s staffs who have made an outstanding performance in implementing safety standards and practices across RTA, along with the members of the organising committee.<\/p>\n

A ceremony took place at RTA\u2019s Head HQ in the presence of Al Tayer, and HE Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. A plethora of RTA\u2019s CEOs, Directors and staffs as well as executives & representatives of participating entities.<\/p>\n

Al Tayer reiterated RTA\u2019s standing commitment to making safety a reality in all infrastructure projects. \u201cWe are keen on adopting safety practices aligned with the world\u2019s highest standards in all roads, bridges, and tunnel projects as well as public transport means such as the metro, buses, tram and marine transit modes. We are equally determined on implementing these standards in all buildings and facilities of RTA throughout Dubai,\u201d commented Al Tayer.<\/p>\n

\u201cSafety cannot be compromised as it is vital for protecting humans deployed in all projects & initiatives of RTA. We take the implementation of the highest global standards of the industry very seriously, and are firmly focused on keeping pace with the Government\u2019s policy that views humans as the most valuable component of the upswing witnessed by the UAE, especially Dubai,\u201d added Al Tayer.<\/p>\n

In the Best Valued Partner of RTA (towards Safety), the winner was the General HQ of the Dubai Police, and the second runner was DEWA.<\/p>\n

In the Best Safety Consultant<\/strong>, Parsons Overseas Limited was the winner, and Parsons-Systra was the runner-up.<\/p>\n

In the Best Safety Contractor (Large Scale) Al Naboodah Construction\u00a0Group and United Motors & Heavy Equipment Company LLC were first and second, respectively. In the SME category of the same Award, the winner was ENOC, followed by ServeU as second.<\/p>\n

In the Best Safety Labourer (of a Contractor), the winner was Nigel Kuzivakwashe Chindzonga from United Motors & Heavy Equipment Company LLC, and the second was Vijay Kumar Prajapati from Wade Adams LLC.<\/p>\n

In the Best Safe Public Transport Driver (Taxi), the winners were SM Alamgir Abdul Samad Sikdar from Dubai Taxi Corporation, Mir Abbas Khooshi Wall from Cars Taxi LLC, and Fasika Dagnachew Worku from Arabia Taxi LLC.<\/p>\n

In the Best Safe Public Transport Driver (Bus), the winners were Abdul Dayan Meer from Al Khawaneej Bus Depot and Asaghar Ali Mohammed from Al Qusais Bus Depot. Jaymar Gelvero won the Best Safe Public Transport Driver (Marine), and James Kamaru Njorroge won the Best Safe Public Transport Driver (Tram).<\/p>\n

In the newly introduced Safety Hero in RTA<\/strong>, the winner as Asim Husain Mohammed, from the Traffic and Roads Agency. The runner-up was Shafeeq Malik, from the Public Transport Agency.<\/p>\n

In the Best Safety Initiative in RTA<\/strong>, the winner was the Licensing Agency for its Risk Rating in VSS System. The second was the Dubai Taxi Corporation for its Brake Plus Initiative.<\/p>\n

In RTA\u2019s Best Maintenance Team<\/strong>, the maintenance team of the Dubai Taxi Corporation finished first, ahead by the team of the Traffic and Roads Agency.<\/p>\n
