Home to 2,700 people of 64 nationalities today, The Sustainable City offset 84% of its operational energy in public areas in the past 12 months (from October 2017 to September 2018) through solar photovoltaic panels.\u00a0 Reflecting the spirit of the residential community in promoting the green vision, the total waste generated was only 1.01 kg per person per year, 15% lower than the previous year. Of the total waste, 84% was sorted and diverted away from landfills.. The sustainability initiatives helped avoid 6,741 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions.<\/p>\n

The Sustainable City recently won five top awards at the first edition of the International Property Awards \u2013 Dubai (IPAD) 2018, where it was named as the \u2018Best Sustainable Development\u2019 as well as the Best Residential Development\u2019 \u2018Best Residential Property\u2019, \u2018Best Mixed-Use Development\u2019 and \u2018Best Public Service Development.\u2019 It has also been honoured as the \u2018Happiest Community\u2019 at the Gulf Real Estate Awards for two consecutive years.<\/p>\n
