To mark the 47th<\/sup> UAE National Day<\/strong>, The Dubai Mall will host a programme of cultural activities and traditional entertainment from December 1st<\/sup>-3rd<\/sup><\/strong>, for residents and visitors alike.<\/p>\n

The Dubai Mall\u2019s promenade area will feature a large majlis, inviting guests to experience traditional hospitality with Arabic coffee and dates. <\/strong>In addition, the area will be host to cultural demonstrations including Pearl Harvesting Displays<\/strong>, as a tribute to the UAE\u2019s heritage of pearl diving and Falcon Displays<\/strong>, showcasing the majestic beauty of this prized, national bird. Families can also get complimentary Henna Painting <\/strong>done in a traditional or modern design of their choice.<\/p>\n

The Souk Atrium<\/strong> will be a hub of UAE-themed arts & crafts for families such as Mask Making<\/strong> using the colours of the UAE Flag and Ayala Stick Painting<\/strong>, referring to the \u2018stick\u2019 used in the popular traditional dance.<\/p>\n

Down the corridor from Souk Atrium, is a special exhibition in tribute of the Year of Zayed<\/strong> by Watani Al Emarat<\/strong> from December 1st<\/sup>-15th<\/sup>. <\/strong>This educational installation invites visitors on a unique journey showcasing the inspirational path of the UAE\u2019s founding father from his birth to his role in forming the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n

Close to the Fashion Catwalk<\/strong>, visitors can experience the handicrafts of Shell Painting <\/strong>and Arabic Calligraphy<\/strong>, leaving guests with a memorable keepsake. In addition, there will be Live Art<\/strong> workshops of talented artists painting images inspired by the leaders and landscapes of the UAE.<\/p>\n

Throughout the three days of UAE National Day festivities, the guests can enjoy the rhythmic movement of the popular Yola Dance<\/strong>, a long-standing dance in UAE culture where men use decorated rifles as prop to the tune of traditional music. Visitors can also join in the spirit with the many UAE Flags, scarves and pins <\/strong>being distributed at Guest Services Desks.<\/p>\n

From the waterfront promenade, guests will be amazed with a special Burj Khalifa<\/strong> LED show inspired by the UAE Flag, plus a Dubai Fountain<\/strong> show choreographed to the UAE National Anthem. Plus, don\u2019t miss a special concert series in Burj Park<\/strong> featuring a star-studded line-up of Arab music stars including the talented Ahlam and Waleed Al Shami <\/strong>on December 1st<\/sup> as well as Hussain al Jasmi and Balqees<\/strong> on December 2nd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n
