The Business Registration and Licensing (BRL) sector in the Department of Economic Development (DED), Dubai, has issued a report on the advantages of Al Hamriya area in Dubai as one of the attractive areas for companies to operate, where it has diversified business activities as well as a central location and integrated infrastructure.<\/p>\n
The report showed that the number of companies in Al Hamriya from 1981 till the end of October 2018 reached 406; of these 285 are commercial (70.2%) with 3,064 workers, 111 are professional (27.3%) with 855 workers, and 10 are in tourism business (2.5%) with 174 workers. The number of companies has increased by an impressive 203.6% from 2006-2010 until 2016-2018.<\/p>\n
Al Hamriya has a high concentration of companies reflecting the vision of Dubai, which is firmly rooted in the continuous and advanced construction of public infrastructure, which provides a positive business environment for the business sector.<\/p>\n
Omar Al Mehairi, Director of Development & Follow-up Division in BRL sector, DED, said: \u201cThe figures of businesses in Al Hamriya confirm Dubai’s position as a global business destination, opening new and attractive opportunities for sustainable economic growth, supporting productivity growth and improving the quality of public services. Dubai remains the preferred business hub for companies looking for a foothold in the regional markets due to the city\u2019s ease of doing business and the confidence in the local economy.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cDubai consistently reviews the cost of starting businesses and the various activities in the emirate to maintain its competitiveness compared to other international markets. Businesses are always looking for new sectors in line with long-term government plans in various sectors, especially technology, industry, and innovative services. The development of the legislative environment and infrastructure, as well as services and facilities related to the speed of completion of procedures, and the launch of large projects, support companies are looking to expanding their footprint to various international markets,\u201d added Al Mehairi.<\/p>\n
The report showed that the total number of business activities in Al Hamriya has reached 1620 as of end-October 2018. The commercial activities included \u201cGeneral Trade\u201d, \u201cPerfumes & Cosmetics\u201d, \u201cReadymade Garments\u201d, \u201cGifts\u201d, and \u201cCargo Transportation by Sea\u201d; while the professional activates included \u201cSelling Snacks\u201d, \u201cRestaurants\u201d, \u201cAdministrative Studies & Consultations\u201d, \u201cCaf\u00e9s\u201d and \u201cManagement & Organizational Training\u201d. Tourism activities included \u201cOperator of Internal Tours\u201d, \u201cTravel & Tourism Agent\u201d, \u201cOrganizing & Activating Tours\u201d, \u201cHotel Management\u201d, and \u201cCustoms Broker\u201d.<\/p>\n
The report showed that the prominent nationalities that are operating their business in Al Hamriya were: India, Pakistan, Egypt, Britain, China, Jordan, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and the Philippines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
