The last time I called for a Dubai taxi, I was told to wait around 25 \u2013 40 minutes. During this endless time window, I was ushered out into the scorching heat by a busy restaurant, and waited for 30 minutes but to no avail. I stepped into a coffee shop for a cool drink and as I stood in line, I noticed three missed calls on my phone. I immediately called back and the cab driver told me he waited but drove away when I didn\u2019t arrive. This was the last straw. I traded in the Dubai taxi number on my speed dial for the Uber app on my smartphone.<\/p>\n

Though various reviews have deemed the service to be more expensive than regular taxis in Dubai, Uber has launched the affordable UberX service in addition to the luxury UberBLACK option. While the base fare starts at Dhs 8, the ride costs Dhs 1.75 per kilometer, with a minimum payment of Dhs 13. These competitive rates provide customers with more travel options in Dubai for any circumstances.<\/p>\n
