The global campaign, beginning today, aims to promote investor education and investor protection as well as highlight global securities regulators\u2019 initiatives in these two critical areas.<\/p>\n<p>As a full member of IOSCO, the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) is proud to raise awareness of World Investor Week in the DIFC by focusing on different aspects of investor education and protection over the course of the week, as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday, 30 September: \u2018Before You Invest\u2019 highlighting the key things investors should consider before they invest in financial products.<\/li>\n<li>Tuesday 1 October: \u2018A Smart Investor\u2019 detailing key factors an investor should consider before making investment decisions.<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday, 2 October: \u2018Investing in a Digital World\u2019 where we try to demystify digital investments and share some of the basics with you.<\/li>\n<li>Thursday, 3 October: \u2018If it Sounds Too Good to be True it probably is!\u2019 Scams and How to Avoid Them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Bryan Stirewalt, Chief Executive of the DFSA, stated: \u201cThe DFSA is proud to participate in IOSCO\u2019s World Investor Week. As the financial services regulator of the\u00a0Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), we are keen to facilitate and promote investor\u00a0education\u00a0so that\u00a0investors are better able to make appropriate financial decisions and\u00a0to recognise when they need to\u00a0seek professional advice.\u201d IOSCO is the international body that brings together the world\u2019s securities regulators and sets global standards for the financial securities sector.
