During the Diwali festive period from 25 to 31 October, the airline will serve a colourful and aromatic array of traditional sweets on all flights to and from India, and savoury meals in selected airport lounges worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Economy Class customers will be served\u00a0<em>Motichoor Laddu<\/em>, a traditional dessert made from\u00a0<em>boondis<\/em>\u00a0(very small flour balls) which are deep-fried in ghee and then simmered in cardamom and saffron-flavoured sugar syrup. They are later shaped into sumptuous laddus and then garnished with silver leaf and pistachio. Passengers travelling on First and Business Class will be able to enjoy the\u00a0<em>Motichoor Laddu<\/em>\u00a0along with\u00a0<em>Dry Fruit Tribhuj,<\/em>\u00a0a festive special of ground cashew and pistachio fudge filled with dried fruit and topped with silver leaf.<\/p>\n<p>In Emirates airport lounges in Dubai, Delhi, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Kuala Lumpur, Emirates will offer frequent flyers as well as First and Business Class passengers special dishes that include traditional sweets and savoury options\u00a0on 27 October.<\/p>\n<p>At the Emirates lounge at Delhi International Airport, customers can look forward to an assortment of Indian cashew sweets, along with\u00a0<em>Motichoor Rabri<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 a traditional Indian dessert made of flour roasted to consistency in ghee and milk, layered with cardamom-flavoured sweet condensed milk and topped with pistachio nuts.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Emirates lounge at Dubai International Airport will serve\u00a0<em>Mini Dal Kachori<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Mini Punjabi Samosa,<\/em>\u00a0which are snacks made from crispy deep-fried breads with spicy stuffing. For dessert, the lounge will serve\u00a0<em>Angoori Rabdi<\/em>, a sweet and succulent milky pudding, paired with\u00a0<em>Motichoor Laddu<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers at the Emirates lounge in Cape Town and\u00a0Johannesburg\u00a0can enjoy\u00a0<em>Barfi<\/em>, a sweet and dense milk-based confectionery;\u00a0<em>Jalebi<\/em>, an Indian sweet made from deep-fried batter in pretzel or coil shapes steeped in sugar syrup, and Nankhatai, shortbread biscuits.<\/p>\n<p>At the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the Emirates lounge will serve\u00a0<em>Biryani, Chapati<\/em>\u00a0that is paired with sweet and sour spicy roasted pumpkin, and flavourful chicken curry with sweet potato.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the culinary offerings, Emirates is ushering in Diwali on\u00a0<em>ice<\/em>, the airline\u2019s award-winning inflight entertainment system with 4,500 channels. During the festive period, passengers across all cabins can watch popular Bollywood movies, including recent hits such as\u00a0<em>Uri, Gold, 2.0<\/em>\u00a0and popular TV shows such as\u00a0<em>Koffee with<\/em>\u00a0Karan and\u00a0<em>Kanpur Waale Khuranas<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>As a global airline, Emirates has been delighting customers\u2019 palates with regionally inspired cuisine, and special seasonal menus for celebrating global cultures on its flights.
