Dubai is set to welcome\u00a0SIKKA Art Festival\u00a0<\/strong>under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) for its 10th<\/sup>\u00a0edition at the heart of Old Dubai, Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood from\u00a019-29 March<\/strong>.\u00a0 Visitors are invited to wander through old wind tower-topped houses that are transformed into mini art galleries for exhibitions, installations, musical performances, films and interactive workshops. Best of all, it is free to attend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Film enthusiasts are invited to experience four days of special screenings showcasing work by Emirati and UAE-based filmmakers at\u00a0Al Marmoom: Film In The Desert\u00a0<\/strong>from\u00a04-7 March<\/strong>. The initiative is presented by Dubai Arts and Culture Authority under the guidance of Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The region\u2019s leading international art fair\u00a0Art Dubai<\/strong>\u00a0is returning for its 14th<\/sup>\u00a0edition from\u00a025-28 March\u00a0<\/strong>at Madinat Jumeirah,<\/strong>\u00a0featuring universal artists, galleries, performances and talks. The fair will bring together 90 galleries from 38 countries, including 21 first timers from Nigeria, Sudan and Vietnam, organised into four sections: Contemporary, Modern, Residents and the newly launched Bawwaba.<\/p>\n

World Art Dubai\u00a0<\/strong>will take over Dubai World Trade Centre from\u00a08-11 April<\/strong>\u00a0giving visitors and art aficionados access to affordable art retail with more than 3,000 pieces from 150 galleries to choose from.<\/p>\n

Jameel Arts Centre is showcasing Sarah Abu Abdallah\u2019s exhibition\u00a0For the First Time in A Long Time<\/strong>\u00a0until\u00a020 April,\u00a0<\/strong>a collection of videos, paintings, text and installations inspired by tension between virtual personas and reality. The Centre is also featuring the multi-lingual exhibition\u00a0Composition for a Public Park\u00a0<\/strong>by artists and musician Hassan Khan until\u00a08 June.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The leading international art hub, Alserkal Avenue, is hosting a variety of exhibitions including a showcase of Beijing-born artist Vivien Zhang\u2019s work,\u00a0Soft Borders<\/strong>\u00a0until\u00a05 March,\u00a0<\/strong>inviting visitors to experience the recurring motif of the kilim a tapestry-woven carpet and its multifarious meanings at this display; a poetic educational exhibition\u00a0Poetry School at Grey Noise\u00a0<\/strong>until\u00a09 March<\/strong>;\u00a0Nothing is Certain\u00a0<\/strong>by British-Iraqi artist Athier Mousawi, which will run until\u00a014 March<\/strong>\u00a0with work aimed to create visual relationship between unanswerable questions and undefined answers; conceptual paintings addressing pressing environmental challenges in\u00a0Brainwashed by Nature\u00a0<\/strong>until\u00a015 March<\/strong>; and\u00a0New Waves\u00a0<\/strong>that allows visitors to explore latest edition of New national Dish from\u00a014 March \u2013 4 April<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
