The step is in the context of RTA\u2019s ongoing endeavours to keep up with best practices in line with the Smart City Initiative launched by Dubai Government.<\/p>\n<p>Engineer Maitha bin Adai, CEO of RTA\u2019s Traffic and Roads Agency said: \u201cRTA had presented three systems at GITEX this year, which echo its strategic objectives of people\u2019s happiness. The trio-systems, which support the green economy requirements by reducing carbon emissions, include the Central Wireless Road Lighting Control System that sets multiple synchronized timetables for dimming streetlights. It can reduce energy consumption, increase lamps lifetime and cut road lighting maintenance costs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRTA also displays HD\u00a0pedestrian\u00a0detection\u00a0camera\u00a0system at GITEX, which provides security for pedestrians in line with the RTA\u2019s vision. It can generate pedestrian statistics in terms of number, sex and age group.
