His Highness Sheikh Mansoo<\/span>r\u00a0B<\/span>in Mohammed\u00a0B<\/span>in Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council,\u00a0has said the development of sports in the UAE and conversion of our wise leadership’s unlimited support of the sports sector into tangible results comes through the development of Emiratis working in the sector, and to achieve the desired growth as well as to implement the directives and vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Council will accelerate its programs aimed at developing, supporting and empowering Emiratis working across the sports sector in Dubai.<\/span><\/p>\n

This came during the first meeting of 2021 of Dubai Sports Council’s Board of Directors, which was held on January 26 at the Council under the chairmanship of\u00a0<\/span>His Highness Sheikh Mansoo<\/span>r\u00a0B<\/span>in Mohammed\u00a0Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, participated in the meeting along with Board members HE Dr Abdulla Al Karam, HE Maryam Al Hammadi, Ali Bujsaim, Mohammed Al Kamali, Ahmad Al Shafar, Moaza Saeed Al Marri, and HE Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Council. Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary General of the Council, was also present at the meeting.<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting reviewed the steps taken to implement the decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed regarding the development of Emiratis working with sports clubs and sports companies in the Emirate of Dubai.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Council, in cooperation with the Competency Assessment Centre of Dubai Government Human Resources Department, conducted competency and personality assessment tests for the supervisors and administrators working with sports clubs, and football and sports companies in Dubai. More than 140 Emirati personnel took part in the tests and following the assessment, the Council has made recommendations and\u00a0<\/span>a\u00a0drawn up development plan for the officials.<\/span><\/p>\n

His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed said UAE’s bet on qualified Emirati personnel\u00a0<\/span>and optimal investment to support the leadership of the sports sector contributed to the country‘<\/span>s success in organizing major sports<\/span>\u00a0tournaments and events, the last of which was the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship Finals,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>during a very challenging\u00a0<\/span>period,\u00a0and the special attention to safety and quality of organization has\u00a0<\/span>won the admiration of the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Development plan for professional players<\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, t<\/span>he\u00a0Board reviewed the budget of the sports sector for 2021, as well as\u00a0<\/span>reports of the permanent committees\u00a0of<\/span>\u00a0the\u00a0C<\/span>ouncil and initiatives that will be\u00a0launched<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in<\/span>\u00a0the coming period, including the latest version of the program to develop professional players in Dubai football companies,\u00a0which is designed\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0educate<\/span>\u00a0players at the cultural level and encourage them to take football as a\u00a0full-time\u00a0<\/span>profession, as well as to introduce foreign players to the culture of the UAE and its history and cultural heritage,<\/span>\u00a0and teach them the Arabic language as well. The program also seeks to\u00a0<\/span>involve the players in community activities and\u00a0encourage them to accept<\/span>\u00a0their role as influential people in the community,<\/span>\u00a0and support the efforts of public institutions\u00a0and n<\/span>on-profit organizations. The program will also educate players about the importance of planning their future, both as a player and beyond.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Board of Directors\u00a0was briefed about\u00a0<\/span>the performance report of the Council\u00a0for<\/span>\u00a0the year 2020, which included programs, initiatives and events that the Council organized at the\u00a0community and local level<\/span>, as well as major international sporting events and tournaments,\u00a0which concluded with the\u00a0<\/span>Dubai International Sports Conference and Dubai Globe Soccer Awards<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>at Armani Hotel, with the majestic\u00a0<\/span>Burj Khalifa\u00a0in the background.<\/span><\/p>\n

The preparations for organizing the Dubai stage\u00a0of the third UAE<\/span>\u00a0Tour, which\u00a0takes place in<\/span>\u00a0February, were also reviewed.<\/p>\n

His Highness Sheikh Mansoo<\/span>r bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum\u00a0also\u00a0<\/span>approved the list of events for the coming period, which include international\u00a0as well as local and\u00a0<\/span>community events\u00a0like the Dubai Desert Classic, Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship, 12th Fazza International Para Athletics Championships, Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup and Al Marmoom Ultramarathon.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
