flydubai, the Dubai-based airline,\u00a0has\u00a0announced\u00a0the start of flights to\u00a0Tirana,\u00a0the capital of\u00a0Albania\u00a0and\u00a0becomes the first UAE-based airline to offer direct flights on this route.\u00a0The airline will operate two flights a week\u00a0between Dubai International (DXB) and Tirana International Airport (TIA)\u00a0from 28 March.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the announcement,\u00a0Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer at\u00a0flydubai, said:\u00a0\u201cas countries within our flying radius lift travel restrictions, we continue to look for new opportunities to connect previously underserved markets\u00a0to Dubai.\u00a0\u00a0We are\u00a0pleased to be\u00a0the first UAE-based airline to operate direct flights between Dubai and Tirana.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tirana, Albania\u2019s capital,\u00a0offers visitors a wide range of heritage and\u00a0cultural sights including\u00a0several\u00a0museums.\u00a0 In addition, Albania is well known for its\u00a0castles and\u00a0UNESCO\u00a0World Heritage\u00a0sites.\u00a0 Its nature parks and mountains, rivers and lakes, and thermal waters\u00a0attract visitors looking for outdoor activities\u00a0and adventures.<\/p>\n

His Excellency Ermal Dredha, Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to the United Arab Emirates, said: \u201cThe start of direct flights between Dubai and Tirana provides a more convenient travel option for Albanian citizens living in the UAE and for the many visitors who choose to visit our country for leisure, business or as a connection hub. This new bridge will enable more people to discover the beauty of Albania in the heart of the Balkan and Mediterranean region. Albania also offers excellent cuisine and a range of tourist attractions at an affordable price. Albanians are very well-known for their warm hospitality, making visitors from the UAE as well as the GCC feel at home.\u201d<\/p>\n
