{"id":43633,"date":"2021-11-02T15:38:36","date_gmt":"2021-11-02T11:38:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/?p=43633"},"modified":"2021-11-02T15:39:09","modified_gmt":"2021-11-02T11:39:09","slug":"dubai-to-host-20-international-sports-events-in-november-including-four-world-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/dubai-to-host-20-international-sports-events-in-november-including-four-world-championships\/","title":{"rendered":"Dubai To Host 20 International Sports Events In November Including Four World Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Dubai will host 111 sports events in the month of November, including 20 top international events, four of which are world championships \u2013 the 25<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Karate World Championships, IBF Bowling World Championships, FIDE World Chess Championship and the ICC Men&#8217;s Twenty20 World Cup.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">November will also see the highest ranked players on the European Tour&#8217;s Race to Dubai contest the final event of the season, the $9 million DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 18-21, while the top eight teams from the world of beach soccer will battle on the sands of Kite Beach for glory in the 10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Tecnotree Intercontinental\u00a0Beach Soccer Cup\u00a0Dubai.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">There is an exciting new addition to Dubai&#8217;s cycling calendar as well \u2013 the Giro d&#8217;Italia Criterium, which is a 30-lap short-format race that will take place on November 6, as part of Expo 2020 Dubai, on a 2.1km circuit.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1m_-1445855563355888393yiv7923303419msonormal\">Being organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, the 10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0edition of the\u00a0<b>Tecnotree Intercontinental\u00a0Beach Soccer Cup<\/b><b>\u00a0Dubai<\/b>\u00a0kicked off at Kite Beach on Tuesday with eight of the world&#8217;s best teams, including the two finalists from the 2021\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-GB\">FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, Russia and Japan, in fray.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Russia and Japan have been draw in the same Group B, alongside three-time Dubai champions Iran and Paraguay, while United Arab Emirates will battle European powerhouses Portugal and Spain, and African champions Senegal for the two semi-final spots from Group A.<\/span><u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The two groups will play three days of round robin matches, followed by semi-finals on Friday and then the final on Saturday, November 6.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The Hamdan Sports Complex, one of the world&#8217;s most iconic sports arenas, will take centrestage from November 16 to 21 when its hosts yet another top international event \u2013 the\u00a0<b>25<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Karate World Championships<\/b>.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">With more than 1,200 athletes expected in Dubai for the event &#8211; alongside over 1,200 delegates, team officials and technical staff &#8211; the 25<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Karate World Championships will be the biggest ever in history in terms participation.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The top stars of international bowling will be here this month as Dubai Bowling Centre hosts the\u00a0<b>International Bowling Federation&#8217;s World Championships<\/b>\u00a0from November 6 to 26. A total of 512 bowlers from 46 countries have signed up for the championships, with 247 of them competing in the elite Super World Championship (Nov 6-15), 217 in the Masters World Championship (Nov 18-26) for the 55 to 65 year olds, and 48 in the Para (wheelchair) World Championship (Nov 12-16).<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Golf spectacle<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Spectators, meanwhile, will return to the European Tour&#8217;s season ending\u00a0<b>DP World Tour Championship<\/b>, Dubai, where 50 of the highest ranked players on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex will take on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, competing for a share of the US $9 million prize pot.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The DP World Tour Championship will also, once again, host the European Disabled Golfers Association (EDGA) Dubai Finale from November 19-20.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Dubai&#8217;s golf enthusiasts will also be able to see Asia&#8217;s top amateurs in action at the\u00a0<b>12<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship<\/b>, which will take place at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club from November 3-6.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Sports at Expo 2020 Dubai<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Expo 2020 Dubai, meanwhile, will host the\u00a0<b>FIDE World Chess Championship 2021<\/b>\u00a0from November 24 and December 16, where reigning world champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway will defend his crown against Russian challenger Ian Nepomniachtchi. The Hamdan Bin Rashid Masters international chess championship will take place concurrently.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The showdown between the game&#8217;s finest Grandmasters highlights Expo 2020&#8217;s diverse and inspiring events calendar. The two players will compete for a prize fund of AED 9 million at Dubai Exhibition Centre, playing 14 games to decide the new World Champion.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Expo 2020 Dubai will also host the\u00a0<b>Giro d&#8217;Italia Criterium<\/b>, an exciting new cycling race organised by Dubai Sports Council and RCS Sport with the support of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/madeinitaly.gov.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MadeinItaly.gov.it<\/a>.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Some of the world&#8217;s top riders will be taking part in the race, including 2021 Giro d&#8217;Italia winner Egan Bernal (INEOS Grenadiers); three-time UCI Road Race World Champion Peter Sagan (BORA hansgrohe); nine-time Grand Tour stage winner Elia Viviani (Cofidis); 2021 Giro d&#8217;Italia winner of the KOM Classification Geoffrey Bouchard; and the two-time UCI ITT World Champion Filippo Ganna (INEOS Grenadiers), winner of six stages of the Giro d&#8217;Italia.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">T20 World Cup continues<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The International Cricket Council&#8217;s\u00a0<b>Twenty20 World Cup<\/b>, which is taking place in the UAE, will continue with 17 matches \u2013 six in Dubai &#8211; taking place this month, including the two semi-finals on November 10 (Abu Dhabi) and November 11 (Dubai), before the new T20 World Champions are decided at the Dubai International Stadium on November 14.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Indian fans will be desperately hoping their cricket team can turn their sagging fortunes around and make the knockout stages, but Virat Kohli&#8217;s men face an uphill task following defeats in their opening two games against, first, Pakistan and then New Zealand. The Indian team will not only have to win their remaining Super 12 matches \u2013 vs Afghanistan on Nov 3, vs Scotland on Nov 5 and vs Namibia on Nov 8 \u2013 but also hope other results in their group fall in their favour.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The Asian qualifiers for the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2022 will take place in Dubai Sports City on November 19-20, with eight of Asia&#8217;s top men and women teams battling for two tickets each to the World Cup.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Hosts UAE have been drawn alongside Asian powerhouses Japan, Sri Lanka and China in Pool B of the men&#8217;s qualifiers, while South Korea, Hong Kong, Philippines and Malaysia have fallen in Pool A. For the women&#8217;s qualifiers, the pots have sent Japan, Kazakhstan, Thailand and the Philippines to Pool A, while China, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka and Malaysia were sent to Pool B.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The pool matches will be played on the first day, and the semi-finals and finals on day two.
