As part of its on-going efforts to promote sustainability, the European Tour has announced the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai will be played in a plastic water bottle-free environment for the first time.<\/p>\n

The organisers of the tournament have implemented a number of measures to ensure the DP World Tour Championship, which is set to take place from November 18-21, is eco-friendly.<\/p>\n

Among them are hands-free high quality filtered water systems which will be installed at Jumeirah Golf Estates \u2013 on and off the course with players, caddies, officials, and spectators able to refill their reusable water bottles or reusable\/recyclable cups for free every day.<\/p>\n

Provided by \u2018No More Bottles\u2019, the water systems offer easy functionality. Water can be filled in seconds by simply using the foot pedal with people able to select between cold and ambient temperatures at the event.<\/p>\n

With these stations in place, the European Tour are encouraging all fans to bring their own reusable water bottles to keep themselves hydrated by drinking some of the best tasting water in the region.<\/p>\n

Food and beverage outlets will be selling glass bottles of water as well as recyclable canned water during the tournament, while reusable branded bottles will also be available to purchase during the DP World Tour Championship.<\/p>\n

Installation of the water dispenser systems and the decision to remove single use plastic water bottles reaffirms the European Tour\u2019s commitment to sustainability and delivering tournaments with lighter environmental footprints.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, the European Tour launched Green Drive, a sustainability initiative which underlines an intensified approach towards priority issues such as climate change; biodiversity loss; air and ocean pollution; and sustainable and ethical procurement.<\/p>\n

Green Drive is also aimed at contributing to internationally recognised environmental and social priorities, including many of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The approach to climate action is directly aligned to The Paris Agreement and the UN Sport for Climate Framework.<\/p>\n

Jumeirah Golf Estates will host the DP World Tour Championship with the top 50 ranked players on the Race to Dubai Rankings in Partnership with Rolex set to battle for glory on the Earth Course.
