Bologna Children’s Book Fair, together with the Region of Emilia-Romagna, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, are present at Expo 2020 Dubai with the Exhibition\u00a0Italian Excellence: The New Generation of Italian Children’s Illustration<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Inaugurated online in partnership with the ATER Foundation for the 58th<\/sup>\u00a0Bologna Children’s Book Fair, the Exhibition will be in the United Arab Emirates as\u00a0a special event<\/strong>\u00a0at Dubai\u00a0from 16 \u2013 22 January 2022<\/strong>\u00a0in the\u00a0Short Stories\u00a0<\/strong>area of the\u00a0Italy Pavilion<\/strong>\u00a0dedicated to temporary shows. During autumn, the Italian Institute of Culture based in Abu Dhabi will be taking the Exhibition to the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) where Italy will be a guest of honor.<\/p>\n

The Exhibition kicks off the extensive cultural programme Italy will be fielding at SIBF. The broad spectrum of events \u2013 including the performing arts, concerts, and workshops \u2013 is designed to promote a deeper understanding in the United Arab Emirates of Italy’s vast cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

After the worldwide success of the previous two editions of Italian Excellence \u2013\u00a0Illustration for Children\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Illustrators for<\/em>\u00a0Gianni Rodari<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 which toured a total of over 30 countries,\u00a0Bologna Children<\/strong>‘s Book Fair\u00a0<\/strong>continues its promotion of Italian children’s illustration with the 3rd<\/sup>\u00a0edition:\u00a0Italian Excellence.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>The New Generation\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>of Italian Children’s Illustrators<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Organized\u00a0by Bologna Children’s Book Fair\/BolognaFiere, in partnership with the Em<\/strong>ilia-Romagna Region and the\u00a0Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The show is curated by\u00a0Giannino Stoppani Cooperative\/Accademia Drosselmeier.\u00a0Twenty young illustrators\u00a0<\/strong>were chosen from\u00a0<\/strong>among Italy’s most promising talents for their ability to make their illustrations resonate with the written text, creating a unique work, thanks to their innovative take on Italy’s longstanding tradition of illustration excellence.<\/p>\n

The artists use a wide variety of techniques, from free drawing and digital design to mixed systems.\u00a0The\u00a0different techniques reflect a broad visual poetic on an equally broad range of subjects: from the classics and fairy stories to Dante’s poetry.\u00a0 The\u00a0result is an exceptional series of new and surprising publishing proposals. The Exhibition now takes these refreshing proposals for children’s publishing to\u00a0Expo 2020 Dubai.<\/p>\n
