From Feb1 to Feb 6, Global Village will open its red and gold lit gates to guests to symbolize good luck, fortune, wealth, prosperity and happiness for the Chinese New Year.<\/p>\n

Guests can enjoy special cultural activities\u00a0and performances including fire breathers at Arabian Square Fountain as well as Traditional Chinese Dragon Dance and Lion Dance with drummers at Dragon Lake and on the Bridge of China in front of Chinese Pavilion. There is also a giant, 6.7M tiger arch at the entrance Celebration Walk which is adorned with Chinese lanterns and decorations -an ideal place to capture cherished memories<\/p>\n

As no celebration would be complete without fireworks, there will bean exclusive display of red and gold fireworks on 4th<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup> February.<\/p>\n

A beautiful Chinese Pagoda decorated with evergreen lucky Kumquat trees will herald a new year of prosperity and good fortune for guests of all ages \u2013 who are invited to play a traditional game of \u201cDa Tuoluo\u201d by spinning a wooden top using a special whip. Two players will compete in an effort to keep their top spinning the longest to be declared the winner.<\/p>\n

Each winner will be able to choose a \u201clucky red envelope\u201d to symbolize good wishes and luck for the year ahead. The envelopes will contain one of many exciting gifts such as vouchers for a free Carnaval ride and eight lucky winners every day will receive envelopes containing limited edition Global Village gold coins! This novel and exciting game gives guests a chance to experience the classic Chinese New Yearh\u00f3ngb\u0101o (red envelope) tradition. The importance of this custom for Chinese New Year is more than about the prizes inside, the envelope itself symbolises good luck and prosperity for all those who receive it.<\/p>\n
