{"id":51556,"date":"2022-10-24T14:50:08","date_gmt":"2022-10-24T10:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/?p=51556"},"modified":"2022-10-24T14:50:08","modified_gmt":"2022-10-24T10:50:08","slug":"gulfood-youthx-regional-finalists-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/gulfood-youthx-regional-finalists-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"Gulfood YouthX Regional Finalists Announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organiser of the Gulfood and GulfHostevents, is pleased to announce the regional finalists of Gulfood YouthX, a culinary competition aimed at aspiring young chefs working in some of the region\u2019s most iconic hotels and restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>Ten teams of three went head to head in\u00a0a &#8216;Culinary Casting&#8217; qualifier round at the prestigious International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA) in Dubai, preparing a three-course menu which took into consideration the competition&#8217;s key themes of &#8216;sustainability&#8217; and &#8216;zero waste&#8217;. In addition to the presentation and taste, the team&#8217;s choice\u00a0and utilisation of ingredients, and their vision for the menu was judged by a jury comprised of leading industry experts.<\/p>\n<p>The four teams picked to go through the regional finals at GulfHost next month were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Burj Al Arab;<\/li>\n<li>Sofitel The Obelisk;<\/li>\n<li>Jumeirah Al Qasr; and<\/li>\n<li>Grosvenor House.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The regional finals, which will be free to attend, will take place on November 9 at GulfHost, where the teams stand a chance to win AED 100,000 worth of prizes, including a cash prize for each chef.<\/p>\n<p>The five-month competition will culminate in the international finale at Gulfood in February 2023, with the prize of a one-week internship at an international 3-Michelin star restaurant for the lucky winning team.<\/p>\n<p>Organised in partnership with the International Centre for Culinary Arts, Gulfood YouthX is the first-of-its-kind launchpad organised by the world&#8217;s largest F&amp;B sourcing event, and is set to empower promising, young F&amp;B talent with a career-changing experience.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-51558\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/YouthX-Group-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"499\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/YouthX-Group-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/YouthX-Group-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/YouthX-Group-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/YouthX-Group-732x487.jpg 732w, https:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/YouthX-Group-1140x758.jpg 1140w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), organiser of the Gulfood and GulfHostevents, is pleased to announce the regional finalists of Gulfood YouthX, a culinary competition aimed at aspiring young chefs working in some of the region\u2019s most iconic hotels and restaurants.
