Middle East Soprano Luiza Formenius releases her sixth single as she gives Opera classic \u2018Nessun Dorma\u2019 a brand new lease of life.<\/p>\n
Like many of her previous singles, Luiza\u2019s cover of \u2018Nessun Dorma\u2019 gives new life to Opera classics, and her version of the Turandot track is brilliantly reimagined as a modern lounge track with electronic club elements.<\/p>\n
And, says Luiza, she\u2019s one of the first female artists to tackle one of the Opera world\u2019s most iconic tracks.<\/p>\n
\u2018I\u2019ve always loved the Turandot opera: the story, the costumes, the music, it really is an experience. And I hadn\u2019t heard it done with a female voice, so I wanted to bring my version into the world.\u2019 <\/em><\/p>\n \u2018Nessun Dorma\u2019 is one of the best-known Opera tracks in the world and comes from Giacomo Puccini’s 1926 opera Turandot. Thanks to the version from Luciano Pavarotti which soundtracked the 1990 World Cup in Italy, it quickly became one of the best-known Opera tracks in the world. And that memory was part of the reason why Luiza decided \u2018Nessun Dorma\u2019 would be the latest Opera single she re-imagined for the modern world.<\/p>\n \u2018I remember watching Pavarotti sing it on TV for the opening of the World Cup and getting goosebumps and being completely blown away. It was a bit daunting taking on such an iconic track in the beginning, but through experimenting with the sounds and working with my producer, I believe we created something unique.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n Luiza\u2019s new rendition transforms \u2018Nessun Dorma\u2019 into a modern electronic version ready for the clubs, and does so without losing the familiarity of the original. The studio recording was produced in Stockholm, Sweden where Luiza again teamed up with the hit production team and producer Erik Lewander at the Kennel. The music video is a new look for Luiza with an edgy artistic fusion twist of the Turandot love story.<\/p>\n Luiza\u2019s cover of \u2018Nessun Dorma\u2019 follows her previous single \u2018Parla Piu Piano\u2019 which was released in the summer of 2022 and celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Godfather movie.
