Ski Dubai<\/a> and\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0Dubai Sports Council<\/span>\u00a0(DSC) have\u00a0announced the opening of\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0registration\u00a0<\/span>process\u00a0for the 15th Ice Obstacle Challenge Championship (Snow Challenge), which\u00a0<\/span>is scheduled to be\u00a0be held on Sunday (September 22, 2024)<\/span>.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Organized by Dubai Sports Council and Majid Al Futtaim Company<\/span>, the popular annual event will be held\u00a0at the Ski Dubai Snow Hall\u00a0<\/span>located\u00a0in\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0Mall of the Emirates, one of Dubai<\/span>‘s prime\u00a0destinations that has won the award for the best indoor ski resort in the world.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

Registration for this special event will continue til<\/span>l\u00a0Thursday<\/span>\u00a0(September 19<\/span>), and those wishing to participate will have to hurry to register and reserve their places in this special race through the Premier Online website via the link:\u00a0https:\/\/www.premieronline.com\/event\/ice_warrior_challenge_15th_edition_7102.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

The race includes\u00a0<\/span>between 20 to 22\u00a0ice obstacles that constitute the peak of excitement and challenge, which\u00a0<\/span>have been\u00a0designed on a track extending 3.5\u00a0<\/span>kms.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Organisers are expecting a tough fight for top honours as\u00a0participants will pass a group of different challenges that add more strength and excitement to the competitions<\/span>. Participants can look forward to, compete in climbing, rolling and running on ice, at a temperature of 4 degrees below zero.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0<\/span>‘Ice Challenge<\/span>‘\u00a0continues to attract participants from different age groups\u00a0<\/span>for\u00a0men and women\u00a0<\/span>from\u00a015\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a060<\/span>\u00a0years. There will be\u00a0three competitive categories<\/span>, namely\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>Elite category, in which competition is limited to men and women who can complete the challenge in less than 25 minutes<\/span>;\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>Individual category open to mixed amateurs of all fitness levels and the\u00a0<\/span>Team category, in which groups of five people\u00a0<\/span>will\u00a0participate and contribute to enhancing cooperation skills among team members<\/span>.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The Ski Dubai snow hall will be transformed into a racetrack f<\/span>illed with\u00a0various obstacles and hurdles, including wall climbing, a\u00a0<\/span>sloping\u00a0led<\/span>ge, crawling over nets, under cars and inside narrow tubes, rolling, running on ice, crossing the maze, hanging on ropes in the air, jumping over hurdles and on wheels, climbing poles, swinging on a horizontal ladder, wheel racing<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0swimming in cold water,\u00a0<\/span>among others.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Competitors will start the challenge at 6<\/span>.30 am, where\u00a0<\/span>participants\u00a0will start in groups and each competitor will be ready with the race number on the front of the shirt and a timing chip attached to the foot, no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled start of each category.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

All participants who\u00a0<\/span>complete\u00a0the race will receive a special medal\u00a0<\/span>and a commemorative Snow Challenge T-shirt\u00a0after returning their timing chip at the finish line<\/span>.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Like in previous editions, the event\u00a0<\/span>is scheduled to\u00a0attract participants from a<\/span>cross\u00a0the world, in addition to residents of the\u00a0<\/span>UAE<\/a>. This unique event gives participants\u00a0the opportunity to test their physical abilities, form teams and work together,\u00a0<\/span>while also\u00a0develop<\/span>ing\u00a0their skills and\u00a0<\/span>having\u00a0fun in the snow<\/span>.<\/p>\n
