The Organizing Committee of the\u00a0<\/span>‘Sheikha Hind Women<\/span>‘s Sports Tournament<\/span>‘\u00a0has approved the competition schedule for the 12th edition of th<\/span>is annual sports festival for women in the UAE.<\/u><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Arguably the largest tournament of its kind organized by the Dubai Sports Council under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,\u00a0<\/span>the tournament aims to attract\u00a0<\/span>female\u00a0sports talents\u00a0<\/span>while\u00a0rais<\/span>ing\u00a0awareness of the importance of women practicing\u00a0<\/span>various\u00a0sports.<\/span><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The 12th edition of the Sheikha Hind Women<\/span>‘s Sports Tournament will kick<\/span>–off on October 16 and continue ti<\/span>ll October 30, 2024. This year<\/span>‘s tournament\u00a0<\/span>has lined up eight different\u00a0sports<\/span>, including\u00a0bowling, running, padel, badminton, cycling, shooting and hurdles,\u00a0<\/span>along with a\u00a03×3 basketball\u00a0<\/span>contest that is the latest addition\u00a0this year.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

The organizing committee announced\u00a0<\/span>that\u00a0registration for teams and players\u00a0<\/span>will commence on\u00a0September 3 and continues til<\/span>l\u00a0October 4<\/span>.\u00a0Registration is\u00a0<\/span>to be\u00a0done through the tournament<\/span>‘s website\u00a0<\/span>(https:\/\/shwt.dubaisc.ae\/<\/span>), where each\u00a0<\/span>participating\u00a0institution\u00a0<\/span>will need to\u00a0create its own account\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0upload all documents\u00a0<\/span>needed to carry out the\u00a0registr<\/span>ation process.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The Organizing Committee has\u00a0<\/span>also\u00a0provided players with the opportunity\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0train<\/span>ing during the build-up to the competitions\u00a0in shooting, padel and obstacle courses<\/span>.\u00a0Players\u00a0<\/span>will be able to\u00a0train at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center<\/span>\u00a0for shooting, and they can train in padel at the Just Padel Club in Port Rashid,\u00a0<\/span>while also utilizing the\u00a0BIA Warrior Club in Al Quoz<\/span>\u00a0for obstacle racing.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Schedule<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The Organizing Committee has\u00a0<\/span>decided that the 12th<\/sup>\u00a0edition of this annual tournament will get under way with the bowling competition at the Dubai International Bowling Centre in Al Mamzar,\u00a0on Wednesday<\/span>\u00a0(October 16<\/span>).<\/u><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

This will be followed by the running race at Expo City Dubai on Thursday<\/span>\u00a0(October 17<\/span>), after which the\u00a0padel tournament will be\u00a0<\/span>worked out\u00a0at the Just Padel Club from October 18 to 20<\/span>. Next will be the\u00a0badminton tournament at Al Nasr Sports Club from October 21 to 24<\/span>, followed by the cycling race at Expo City Dubai on Friday<\/span>\u00a0(October 25<\/span>).<\/u><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The shooting championship will be held at Fazza Shooting Range on Saturday\u00a0<\/span>(October 26<\/span>),\u00a0<\/span>while\u00a0the obstacle course will be\u00a0<\/span>organised\u00a0at\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0Gravity Gym on Sunday\u00a0<\/span>(October 27<\/span>). The annual event will conclude with the inaugural\u00a03×3 basketball championship at Al Nasr Sports Club from October 28 to 30.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

The organizing committee\u00a0<\/span>is keen to have as many contestants as possible for this annual event while\u00a0invit<\/span>ing\u00a0all women\u00a0<\/span>from\u00a0government, semi-government and private sector institutions<\/span>\u00a0to compete with\u00a0female citizens<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0residents\u00a0<\/span>to complete the registration process and start preparing for the exclusive annual sports festival.<\/u><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament is witnessing remarkable development year after year, as it witnesses a significant and noticeable increase in the number of participants\u00a0<\/span>at\u00a0each edition<\/span>. The event has\u00a0continue<\/span>d\u00a0to attract public attention for the specialized program<\/span>mes and initiatives\u00a0<\/span>that\u00a0it offers to female employees\u00a0<\/span>while\u00a0creat<\/span>ing\u00a0the desired positive impact on this category<\/span>\u00a0of society.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/u><\/p>\n

The goal is also to showcase sports\u00a0as a basic factor in maintaining good health and strengthening ties and developing relations between female employees in various government and semi-government institutions a<\/span>long with\u00a0the private sector.<\/span><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

One of the most important features of the course is that it contributes to raising awareness among female employees about the importance of sports and physical activity for women<\/span>‘s health despite their work and family preoccupations and the need to make it a way of life.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n
