The FIRST\u00ae<\/em>LEGO\u00ae League (FLL)<\/strong> 2024-25 season, hosted by ATLAB, a subsidiary of the Centena Group, in collaboration with FIRST\u00ae<\/strong><\/em> (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and LEGO\u00ae<\/em><\/strong>Education, announced the national winners from across the UAE<\/a> during the grand finale of the \u2018CHALLENGE\u2019 category on February 9, 2025. The awards recognised young innovators from 42 participating teams for their exceptional creativity, problem-solving skills and teamwork in robotics and STEM.<\/p>\n

The Champion\u2019s Winner Award<\/strong> was presented to Team \u2018ACE\u2019 from\u00a0Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences<\/em>, with Team \u2018PELAGIC PIONEERS\u2019 from DPS<\/em> (Delhi Private School) – Sharjah<\/em>as first runner-up and Team \u2018METAL MECH\u2019from Gems International School – Al Khail<\/em>as the second runner-up.<\/p>\n

In the Robot Performance category<\/strong>, Team \u2018SEATROTTERS\u2019from Gems Millenium School – Sharjah\u00a0<\/em>emerged as winners, followed by Team \u2018ACE\u2019 from Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences<\/em> first runner-up and Team \u2018MARINE X\u2019 from Gems Millenium School Sharjah<\/em>as the second runner-up.<\/p>\n

The winners for Robot Design<\/strong>wereTeam \u2018AQUA RAPTORZ\u2019 from\u00a0DPS – Sharjah<\/em>, with Team \u2018SEATROTTERS\u2019 from\u00a0Gems Millenium School – Sharjah<\/em>as first runner-up and Team \u2018CODEBREAKERS 2.0\u2019 from Emerging Stars Institute<\/em> as second runner-up.<\/p>\n

The Innovation Project award<\/strong> went to Team \u2018MAWJ MYSTERY MASTERS (M CUBE)\u2019 from DPS – Sharjah<\/em>, with Team \u2018HYDRATECH\u2019 from Mayoor Pvt School<\/em>as first runner-up and Team \u2018NMS HYDROBOTS\u2019 from Gems New Millennium School – Al Khail<\/em> as second runner-up.<\/p>\n

Finally, the Core Values award<\/strong> was won by Team \u2018AIS_TECHTITANS\u2019 from\u00a0Abu Dhabi International Pvt School, <\/em>while Team \u2018ABYSSAL EXPLORERS\u2019from Abu Dhabi Indian School\u00a0<\/em>secured first runner-up position and \u2018DIAEH TEAM 2\u2019 from Dubai<\/a> International Academy – Emirates Hill<\/em> secured the second runner-up position.<\/p>\n

This year, the competition included theMotivate Award<\/strong>, which was presented to Team \u2018REEF RANGERS\u2019 from Diyar Private Academy Early Years and Girl’s Campus Dibba, Fujairah\u00a0<\/em>in recognition of their exceptional team spirit, enthusiasm, and commitment to the core values of the FIRST\u00ae <\/em>LEGO\u00ae League.<\/p>\n

Charbel Najjar<\/strong>, the coach of Team<\/strong> ACE from Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences\u00a0<\/strong>said<\/strong>: \u201cThe competition provided us with a dynamic platform to exhibit our innovative concepts and gain valuable experience in the realms of problem-solving, teamwork, and STEM-related skills. We aim to carry this experience forward and continue to participate in similar competitions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The winners in the CHALLENGE category were assessed on the basis of their robot design, performance, innovation projects and core values. TeamACE that received the Champion\u2019s Winner Award are qualified for the international-level competition, which is held in the USA at the World Festival \u2013 Houston, Texas. Apart from this, selected teams will compete in the international competitions across the world; AIS_TECHTITANS from Abu Dhabi International Pvt School\u00a0<\/em>in Greece, SEATROTTERS from Gems Millenium School – Sharjah<\/em>in South Africa, AQUA RAPTORZ from DPS \u2013 Sharjah\u00a0<\/em>and METAL MECH from Gems International School- Al Khail<\/em> in Australia and PELAGIC PIONEERS from DPS \u2013 Sharjah<\/em>in USA.<\/p>\n

Nilesh Korgaonkar, CEO of ATLAB said: <\/strong>\u201cThe exceptional projects created by these innovators may not be directly implemented, but they might inspire real-world solutions at an international level or adopted by organisations or countries associated with FIRST\u00ae<\/strong><\/em>. This competition is a platform for students to showcase their creativity, gain valuable experience and contribute to solving real-world problems. We are immensely proud of all the participants and winners who seized this opportunity. To ensure high-quality evaluation, we meticulously selected judges with expertise in STEM education and robotics.\u201d<\/p>\n

The teams were judged by esteemed professionals from different backgrounds, representing institutions, universities and schools across the UAE from both governmental and private organisations. This year\u2019s grand finale was further enriched by the presence of special guest Rasna Hussain, a CCDI Teacher and Trainer at the UAE\u2019s Ministry of Education, whose expertise spans Robotics, STEM Training, artificial intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning.<\/p>\n

In line with the UAE’s vision to foster a knowledge-based economy and empower future generations, initiatives like the FIRST\u00ae<\/em> LEGO\u00ae League play a vital role in nurturing young innovators.
