Dubai<\/a> Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has launched a comprehensive programme to activate Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood<\/strong>, a new effort to celebrate the district\u2019s rich history and culture while enhancing its appeal as a destination for visitors.<\/p>\n

The programme will run until the end of December<\/strong>, offering a dynamic calendar of panel discussions, interactive workshops, and community talks that bring local traditions and crafts to the forefront. Through this initiative, Dubai Culture reaffirms its commitment to sharing the city\u2019s story with a global audience and highlighting Al Fahidi\u2019s enduring place on Dubai\u2019s cultural map.<\/p>\n

Curated by expert guides, the activation places a strong emphasis on engaging families and children in the preservation of the UAE\u2019s<\/a> heritage. A key component is the \u2018Family Workshops\u2019 series<\/strong>, hosted on the first Saturday of every month. Among the highlights is \u2018Doors of Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood\u2019<\/strong> on 28 June<\/strong>, which invites young attendees to discover the artistic details and decorative elements that define the district\u2019s distinctive architecture. Residents will also have the opportunity to attend the seminar \u2018Barajeel and the Magic Brush<\/strong>,\u2019 scheduled for 5 July<\/strong>, followed by the \u2018Al Fahidi-Inspired Bookmarks\u2019 <\/strong>class on 2 August<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Live Demonstrations of Emirati Crafts\u2019 <\/strong>programme offers a rich and insightful journey, featuring exceptional experiences that allow visitors to explore the secrets, types, techniques and stories behind traditional practices, exploring their role in the community\u2019s collective memory. The programme\u2019s agenda includes a series of interactive and hands-on sessions led by experts from the TurathCentre for Traditional Handicrafts. Among them is the \u2018Gargoor-Making\u2019 workshop on 12 July, and \u2018The Palm Tree… A Legend of Tales\u2019 session on 16 July. The programme will also include the \u2018Safafa\u2019(palm frond weaving) and \u2018Burqa Sewing\u2019 workshops in August, among many others.<\/p>\n
