Designed to immerse children in the beauty and spirit of Hatta, the camp invites participants to explore the region\u2019s landscapes, traditions and values through hands-on experiences. The initiative supports the UAE\u2019s Year of Community campaign and complements the wider development vision for Hatta, reinforcing the objectives of the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040 to enhance the area\u2019s cultural and social vitality.<\/p>\n<p>Held under the theme \u2018Hatta: Together as One,\u2019 the camp takes inspiration from the book \u2018Hatta\u2019 by researcher Juma Khalifa bin Thalith Al Humairi, which captures the region\u2019s rich legacy. Created for children aged 7 to 12 years, the programme offers a series of interactive activities spread over four weekends, allowing participants to engage directly with Hatta\u2019s unique natural surroundings. Guided by a team of experts and specialists, it aims to deepen children\u2019s understanding of local heritage while fostering teamwork and a shared sense of national identity.<\/p>\n<p>Across the four weeks, those enrolled will embark on adventures that bring Hatta\u2019s story to life. The journey begins with \u2018The People &amp; The Place,\u2019 where children discover how the mountains, forts, and farms have shaped the lives of Hatta\u2019s community. In the second week, \u2018The Honey Makers\u2019 offers a glimpse into the world of beekeeping \u2013 meeting apiarists, exploring the surrounding landscape, and learning how honey is gathered from the mountains. During \u2018Wadi Jeema &amp; Water Wonders,\u2019 young learners will trace the path of water from its mountain sources and explore traditional irrigation methods once used to sustain homes and farms. The final weekend coincides with the UAE\u2019s 54th Union Day, celebrated under the theme \u2018Hatta\u2019s National Day,\u2019 offering children a joyful and collaborative experience that deepens their sense of belonging and pride. Throughout the programme, a range of creative and educational activities will further highlight the UAE\u2019s traditions.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the initiative, Mariam Dhain Al Tamimi, Manager of Al Shindagha Historical District and Acting Director of the Heritage Sites Department at Dubai Culture, noted that the camp reflects Dubai Culture\u2019s ongoing commitment to nurturing awareness, social responsibility, and cultural connection among the younger generation. She said: \u201cThrough the Hatta Winter Camp, Dubai Culture aims to create meaningful experiences that inspire creativity and curiosity.
