{"id":68607,"date":"2026-02-28T07:07:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-28T03:07:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/?p=68607"},"modified":"2026-02-28T07:07:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-28T03:07:08","slug":"griekspoor-to-face-medvedev-in-dubai-duty-free-tennis-championships-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/griekspoor-to-face-medvedev-in-dubai-duty-free-tennis-championships-final\/","title":{"rendered":"Griekspoor To Face Medvedev In Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships Final"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"read\">World No. 25 Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands advanced to the final of the 34th edition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/dubaiverse.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dubai<\/a> Duty Free Tennis Championships (ATP 500), setting up a clash with Russia\u2019s Daniil Medvedev in the title match.<\/p>\n<p class=\"read\">Griekspoor secured his place after defeating Russia\u2019s Andrey Rublev, world No. 18 and the 2022 champion, in straight sets, 7-5, 7-6, in a semi-final lasting one hour and 45 minutes on Friday evening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"read\">The victory marked Griekspoor\u2019s first win over Rublev following three previous defeats and made him the first Dutch player to reach the Dubai final in the tournament\u2019s history.<\/p>\n<p class=\"read\">In the other semi-final, Medvedev, ranked 11th in the world and seeded third in the tournament, advanced with a straight-sets victory over Canada\u2019s Felix Auger-Aliassime, the top seed and world No. 8, 6-4, 6-2, in one hour and 24 minutes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"read\">Medvedev, who won the Dubai title in 2023, is aiming to lift the trophy for a second time.
