The Group 1 race will be run over 2,000 metres on dirt, with nine of the world\u2019s leading thoroughbreds set to compete.<\/p>\n<p class=\"read\">Among the contenders are last year\u2019s winner \u201cHit Show\u201d, \u201cMeidan\u201d, winner of Super Saturday, \u201cForever Young\u201d, champion of both the UAE Derby and the Saudi Cup, and \u201cImperial Emperor\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"read\">The meeting opens with the Dubai Kahayla Classic for Purebred Arabians (Group 1), over 2,000 metres on dirt, featuring 15 runners competing for $1 million, featuring 15 runners including &#8220;Murad&#8221;, &#8220;First Class&#8221;, &#8220;Fallah&#8221; and &#8220;Mubeed&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"read\">The second race, the Godolphin Mile (Group 2), over 1,600 metres on dirt, features 12 runners competing for $1 million, including \u201cCommissioner King\u201d, \u201cPanching\u201d, \u201cMendelssohn\u201d and \u201cDavid of Athens\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"read\">The third race, the Dubai Gold Cup (Group 2), over 3,200 metres on turf, brings together 10 runners competing for $1 million. Leading contenders include \u201cAl Riffa\u201d, \u201cAl Nayyir\u201d, \u201cSiskany\u201d, \u201cSons and Lovers\u201d and \u201cVery Elegant\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"read\">The fourth race, the UAE Derby (Group 2), over 1,900 metres on dirt, features 12 runners competing for $1 million, led by \u201cPyromancer\u201d, \u201cWonder Den\u201d, \u201cSix Speed\u201d and \u201cBrotherly Love\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"read\">The fifth race, Al Quoz Sprint (Group 1), over 1,200 metres on turf, includes 13 runners competing for $1.5 million, faeturing \u201cLazzat\u201d, \u201cRiff Runner\u201d, \u201cCover Up\u201d and \u201cMarbaan\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"read\">The sixth race, Dubai Golden Shaheen (Group 1), over 1,200 metres on dirt, features 12 runners competing for $2 million, including \u201cBentornato\u201d, \u201cAl Naseeb\u201d, \u201cMidland Money\u201d and \u201cMufasa\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"read\">The seventh race, Dubai Turf (Group 1), over 1,800 metres on turf, sees 11 runners competing for $5 million, led by \u201cFacteur Cheval\u201d, alongside \u201cEmbodiment\u201d, \u201cQudwah\u201d and \u201cAl Najm\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The eighth race, Longines Dubai Sheema Classic (Group 1), over 2,410 metres on turf, features six runners competing for $6 million, including \u201cCalandagan\u201d, \u201cEziqal Diamond\u201d, \u201cGaiyyath Loto\u201d and \u201cRoyal Power\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dubai will host the 30th Dubai World Cup meeting at Meydan Racecourse on Saturday, featuring 100 horses from leading international stables competing across nine races with total prize money of $30.5 million.
