{"id":9128,"date":"2018-01-07T09:17:49","date_gmt":"2018-01-07T09:17:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/?p=9128"},"modified":"2018-01-07T09:17:49","modified_gmt":"2018-01-07T09:17:49","slug":"tashkeel-presents-in-residence-christine-muller-and-fay-mccaul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.dubaicityguide.com\/site\/tashkeel-presents-in-residence-christine-muller-and-fay-mccaul\/","title":{"rendered":"Tashkeel Presents In Residence: Christine M\u00fcller and Fay McCaul"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first designers to have residencies at Tashkeel will display their work in an exhibition opening on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Christine M\u00fcller, from Austria, and Briton Fay McCaul spent three months utilising the centre&#8217;s well-equipped studios, exploring Dubai and engaging with the emirate&#8217;s residents through a series of workshops and talks.<\/p>\n<p>Lisa Ball Lechgar,\u00a0Deputy Director of Tashkeel, said: &#8220;For many practitioners, residencies offer time and space away from their usual surroundings and obligations, enabling them to develop new areas of creative practice and find fresh inspiration.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;During the past six years, more than 40 artists from over 15 countries have taken up the opportunity to spend time with us here in Dubai, engaging in experimental creative practice in a range of media and genres.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As Dubai Design District and events such as Dubai Design Week raise the profile of design in the UAE, the integration of\u00a0designers into the longstanding Artist-in-Residence programme represents a logical progression for Tashkeel.
