CITY WALK Showcases Variety Of Unique Artists To Celebrate Dubai Art Season 2015
CITY WALK by Meraas, the dynamic outdoor concept, is celebrating Dubai Art Season with a showcase of unique and engaging artists.
Dubai Art Season activities kicked off on March 24 at the leisure destination with an alternative musical performance by musical maestro ‘Pipe Guy’, a.k.a. Jake Clark who left visitors in awe with his staccato playing of household pipes that created melodic magic.
From April 2-4, prolific calligrapher Wissam Shawkat will engage visitors by creating a live Arabic calligraphy mural on-the-spot titled ‘Calligraphy in the City’. With his piece he aims to bring to life the poetic words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The artwork will be displayed round-the-clock, and illuminated at night until April 21.
Hand pan artist Sherif El-Moghazy will leave visitors in awe with his distinctive hand pan steel drum music from April 10-11. A renowned hand pan player in the Arab world, the talented musician will engage with visitors as he plays the instrument that produces an ancient yet familiar sound.
Aimed at highlighting the emirate’s growing creative landscape within the international circuit, the inaugural edition of Dubai Art Season will run until April 21, 2015. As a venue partner of the Dubai Art Season, CITY WALK – will provide visitors with access to unique art and cultural events and attractions throughout the season.
