To mark the 47th UAE National Day and the historic achievements of this great nation, Expo 2020 Dubai hosted a special onsite celebration today for its staff of more than 660 people.

The Expo 2020 team comprises individuals from more than 60 countries, perfectly highlighting the UAE’s spirit of unity, inclusivity and cross-cultural collaboration as the nation prepares to welcome the world for a six-month celebration of innovation from 20 October, 2020.

The festivities outside the newly-opened House of Volunteers featured everything from Emirati musical performances and arts and crafts, to traditional cuisine and a best-dressed competition.

Najeeb Mohammed Al-Ali – Executive Director, Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau, said: “As the UAE celebrates its National Day in the Year of Zayed, Expo 2020 would like to congratulate our country’s wise leadership and its proud citizens on this momentous day. We look forward to showing our nation’s warm hospitality and rich culture to the world at Expo 2020 in less than two years’ time.”

The UAE was born 47 years ago, when its founding father the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan brought the seven emirates together to form a nation. Each year on 2 December, the UAE takes the opportunity to honour the country’s heritage, thank its leaders and celebrate its emergence onto the global stage.
