MBRF Announces Extension Of Nobel Museum Exhibition In Dubai Until May 7
Based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF), the Foundation has announced that the Nobel Museum exhibition in Dubai will be extended until May 7, 2015. The announcement was made during a ceremony organised by MBRF on Thursday to honour its partners in this event. Dubai is hosting the Nobel Museum exhibition for the first time in the region under a new theme, ‘The Nobel Prize: Ideas Changing the World’.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, Managing Director of MBRF, as well as representatives of the sponsors of the event from the public and private sectors, and a group of Emirati inventors and media representatives.
In his address during the ceremony, H.E. Huwaireb said: “We are pleased to announce, based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the MBRF, the extension of the Nobel Museum exhibition until May 7, considering the huge turnout of visitors to the museum. We believe this will be an opportunity for more visitors to get to know closely the works of the most important scientists and innovators in the world.”
H.E. Huwaireb said the Nobel Museum exhibition in Dubai has been successful in attracting thousands of visitors from different nationalities and community groups. As a major platform for the exchange of views and experiences on creative and innovative content, the exhibition has also drawn the attention of specialists as well as the local and international media, he added.
“We are happy that the Nobel Museum exhibition has been a source of inspiration for the talented sons and daughters of the UAE. We are confident that one day their names will shine among the list of Nobel Prize winners. The youngsters of our beloved country have the determination and passion to attain the knowledge required to take them to top positions in various fields. And this is what we saw clearly when we hosted the ‘Emirati Innovation Day’ as part of the Nobel Museum exhibition,” H.E. Huwaireb said.
On the occasion, H.E. Huwaireb stated that MBRF will continue with this journey of innovation and excellence with the second edition of the Nobel Museum exhibition in Dubai next year. “We are happy to state that the Nobel Museum exhibition will become an annual event that adds to the wealth of activities organised in the Emirate of Dubai. It will be an event that encourages creativity and innovation, opening new horizons of knowledge for everyone,” H.E. Huwaireb added.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, H.E. Huwaireb thanked the media for covering the event extensively and promoting it in various forums. The event honoured sponsors and a group of innovators who participated in the ‘Emirati Innovation Day’, which was organised by the Foundation during the event to highlight their creativity and experience in front of visitors to the museum.
The Nobel Museum exhibition has witnessed huge interest from specialists and intellectuals as well as university and school students. A series of workshops organised by the Foundation on the sidelines of the exhibition attracted wide participation from all groups, especially young Emirati talents and innovators.
Through four specialised workshops, the exhibition introduced a group of experts from the Nobel Museum. In one of the workshops, Muhammad Yunus, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006, shared his experiences on micro-finance that contributed to economic and social empowerment of millions of people in the world.
