#WOWJBR Street Beats Returns on 18 February

Dubai-UAE: 13 February, 2019  Dubai’s premier beachfront destination Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) by Dubai Retail is gearing up to host the second edition of Street Beats, a 10-day music festival set to feature over 200 performances by 55 artists from over 20 countries. Street Beats is part of the ongoing #WOWJBR campaign, an interactive celebration of the arts and live entertainment.

From 18 to 27 February, talented musicians will take over the five dedicated open-air stages in JBR to entertain the crowds with a series of captivating tunes, performed on a myriad of traditional and unconventional instruments. Visitors will have the ultimate chance to enjoy top street talent from across the globe in an exhilarating musical extravaganza open to the public.

The much-anticipated free-to-attend festival is set to become a platform for homegrown artists this year. Among prominent performers will be Hamood Bafoory, the first Emirati rocker, Ray, the 2012 beatbox champion of the UAE, Adam Baluch, a loop pedal artist, Adam Kadabra, a lap-tapping acoustic guitar player, and Walter Scalzone, a percussionist who uses a combination of unique visual effects.

The roster of local artists will also feature The Supernovas, G-Beat, Francoise Crosbie, Nya Crea, Matt West, Leanna Kerry, Josh McCartney, Pimms Brooke, Dubai Royal Mariachi, Greg Pearson, WYWY, Leoné Murphy, Gari Deegan, Aman Sheriff, Jamie Wrecs, Maryna Georgievna, AJ and the Gang, Ollie Chapman, Ibby VK, Toi Dupras, Jay Abo, Carl & The Reda Mafia, Down Home, Lisa D, Hasan Malik, Jin Flora, Inas, Hamdan Al-Abri, Rony Sarkis, Pasha Cazan, Echo Vessel, Taho Tito, Sam Tring, Peter Antal, Vandalye, Sparks, Game Over, Marko, Chinua Hawk, Bass Mic and Tatiana Durova.

The line-up of international acts will include The Snake Charmer, also known as Archy J, India’s first female bagpiper, flute loop player Sean Regan, multi-instrumental pop duo Hannie, classical singer Josephine Shaw, Soumik Datta, a composer and virtuoso sarod player, and Cat Indigo, a duo that combines the classical harp with the handpan.

The inaugural edition of #WOWJBR Street Beats in 2018 witnessed a strong uptake as more than 60 local and international artists wowed visitors with their spectacular performances.
