Moldova Announces Plans For Dubai Expo 2020
Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Victor Haruta confirmed the participation of Moldova at the Dubai World Expo 2020, aiming to strengthen Moldova’s position as an emerging leader for production, manufacturing, and innovation.
The Ambassador, Mr Victor Haruta commented in aninterview with “hotelandrest.com “ News web in Abu Dhabi , “Moldova remains fairly unknown to the people of the United Arab Emirates and the world, so it’s a big opportunity to take part in the Expo 2020 and show what Moldova is really about. It’s not only that Moldova is an idyllic country to invest in, but it’s also about our people, buildings, art, culture and history. This is a great chance to show that.”
Moldova’s pavilion will feature the latest, state of the art augmented reality technologies to offer visitors a holistic, 360-degree immersive experience. Expect to be transported to the streets of Moldova where the technologies are designed to blend the physical and digital realms, thus delivering an authentic and inspiring, sensory experience.
Haruta added, “Considering the importance of the Gulf Region in the spheres of economic, social, and technological activity as well as UAE and Gulf Region being an important economic partner in Moldova’s effort to build lasting partnerships in investment, trade, and technology advancement, we are extremely optimistic about our participation and expect positive outcomes from our strong presence at the Expo 2020”.
The Moldovan pavilion will offer opportunities not only to merchandise trade but will display all services such as its endless attractions and eco tourism facilities. It will also provide a platform to showcase Moldova’s latest research and development efforts, and will provide insight into how its cultural heritage, international trade agreements and key destinations can contribute to a boost in foreign investments, and tourist numbers.
“Moldova has three very important agreements in place with the EU, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and Turkey. Countries bound by the agreement will not levy tax on export products manufactured locally in Moldova, so ultimately businesses in Moldova are getting tax free access to more than 800 million people. Our objective is to increase this number to 1 billion and we are currently working on entering into agreements with more countries to make that a reality,” stated the Ambassador.
Haruta reports 12 businesses from the UAE registered in Moldova in 2018 alone, brining in investments valued at AED 4 million. Commenting on the feat, Haruta said, “We are happy to offer a new market and new opportunities to businesses of the UAE. We have an open door attitude and provide immense support to international companies in Moldova”.
Regarding tourism in Moldova, Haruta stressed on the emerging medical tourism industry in the region. “Moldova is proud of its advanced medical facilities that attract patients from across Europe who are seeking the best treatments offered at a fraction of the price in comparison to their home countries. Especially dentistry in Moldova is booming. The quality is the same as other developed countries, but is available in Moldova at a quarter of the price.”
Expo 2020 Dubai will contribute to achieving Moldova’s economic vision by supporting the growth of tourism, stimulating the development of innovative businesses and enhancing the country’s international reputation as a location to do business.
“The UAE has been incredibly amazing, helpful and cooperative with us as we established our embassy here in 2018. It gives me great joy to see the leadership promote tolerance the way it has, especially with the Pope’s visit which happened recently. The manner in which the country is advancing across all aspects be it economically, socially, culturally, or technologically, it is an amazing achievement. I am very happy and honoured to be appointed to the UAE,” he concluded.
