  1. Dubai Eye on Bluewaters Island

Bluewaters Island—located near JBR—is going to be the home of our town’s newest and coolest attraction: the Dubai Eye. An imit ation of the famous London Eye, the Dubai Eye is set to the tallest Ferris wheel in the world. Meeras Holding is the developed on the project, which is estimated to be worth Dhs 6 billion.

  1. Dubai Frame

What initially seems slightly quaint to look at as a structure, the Dubai Frame is essentially designed to act as a sort of two-way window. One frame shows what is known as “old Dubai” with Karama and Deira, and the other view being of “new Dubai” looking at Burj Khalifa and Emirates Towers. The Dubai Frame is going to be located in Zabeel Park and should open sometime this year.

  1. Museum of the Future

This is by far the coolest project in my opinion as it brings together art, architecture, design, engineering in a destination that targets tourists and residents alike. Located in the Emirates Towers area, the project anticipates completion by 2017.  The Museum of the Future will create and provide an innovative environment for art and culture alongside cutting edge technology.

  1. Dubai water canal

This is one of the many reasons we are forced to say goodbye to Safa Park. The Dubai Water Canal however, is solace for residents as we are welcoming an adventurous new project that sounds equally if not more exciting. The Dhs 2 billion project is almost 33% done according to the RTA and is set to open before the 2020 Expo for increased connectivity, and better/cheaper residential options.

  1. Dubai Resort and Theme Parks

Projected to open in October 2016, are three theme parks: Motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks and Legoland Dubai. Each park is unique in its own niche way, thus together covering a wide array of targets—but primarily children. There will be over 83 attractions including live shows, roller coasters, play areas, and 3D motion simulators. According to Emriates24/7, the company has confirmed that the construction of the theme park is 17 per cent completed and 40 per cent of the ride engineering and manufacturing is finalized. It is expected to be completed by 2016.

  1. Aladdin City

Another seemingly bizarre and extravagant project, Aladdin city is a project inspired by the tales of Sinbad and Aladdin. The city will be spread over 450 meters on the Dubai Creek and will comprise of 3 towers that will house commercial and hotel space. Dubai Municipality has recently acquired a design consultant for Aladdin City, and construction will hopefully start sometime next year.

1.MBR City – District One

Finally, MBR or Mohammed Bin Rashid City is the latest residential project to wow the Dubai market. The developer of the Dhs 30 billion projects is Meydan Sobha, and they intend to handover the first installment of villas in mid-2016. MBR District one contains Crystal Lagoons, the largest artificial beach in the world and a 14k boardwalk as well an 8.8k jogging/biking track.
