IACAD Announces New Religious Awareness Program With More Than 1,000 Activations
The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) recently announced its religious education program for the second half of 2019, organized by the Education and Religious Guidance Department in IACAD. The program includes more than 1,000 lessons, lectures, sermons, visits and meetings that tackle a variety of religious and social topics. The aim of the program is to raise awareness about the values of Islam and to encourage tolerance and moderation between citizens and residents to create greater harmony in the emirate of Dubai.
IACAD organizes lectures and lessons in several areas across Dubai and at different times in order to reach the largest possible target audience. The venues hosting these religious education program for the second half of the year include mosques, prayer rooms, educational centres, official institutions, Quran memorization centres, summer centres, hospitals, penal institutions, sports and cultural clubs and public places.
Yusra Al-Qa’ud, Education and Religious Guidance Department Director, lauded the cooperation between IACAD and its partners from various government and private bodies that enable the management team to carry out religious awareness programs.
“Our lectures and lessons are based on specific methodology and scientific research, and support national initiatives and efforts aimed at supporting the values of a civilized society with an Islamic identity in the emirate of Dubai,” said Al-Qa’ud.
Al-Qa’ud added: “The Education and Religious Guidance Department works in adherence with the vision and strategy of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department to promote religious awareness and establish ethical values among the various strata of society by promoting Islamic culture. This in turn protects the society from destructive ideas and behavioral deviations, and encourages development, excellence and innovation among the target groups. Furthermore, we are keen to add more topics to the program in order to address different religious, social, cultural and historical topics.”
As part of the program, several accredited lecturers will give weekly classes on religious and jurisprudential topics at several mosques and centres. The list of lectures includes: “Major Provisions Explanation and Introduction to Grammar for the Youth”, “Matn Abi Shuja’ “, “Faithful Lessons”, “Quran Tafsir”, “Yawm al-Qiyamah Book Series”, “Mustalah al-Hadeeth”, “Zaad Al Mastanka Explanation”, “Sahih al-Bukhari”, “Bulug Al-Maram”, “Ahkam al-Ibadat”, “Ahdath Yawm al-Qiyamah”, “Al Targheeb wal Tarheeb”, “Lessons in Islamic Jurisprudence”, “Ashrat al-Sa’ah”, “Al Huqooq Al Shari’a Book series”, “Fiqh Al Islami”, “Riyad as-Salihin”, “Correction of the recitation with the Qur’anic testimonies”, “Khawater Imaniya (Faithful Thoughts)” and “Lessons from the biography of the Prophet”.
IACAD will also continue to hold on-going lectures at the Civil Defense Centres in Dubai, which will tackle the topics of “Charity and Allah’s Observation”, “Islamic Jurisprudence”, “Obedience to the Leader” and “Tolerance”.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdul-Hakim Al-Anis and Sheikh Shah Jahan will continue to deliver their regular recital sessions in the second half of 2019. The topics included in these sessions are: “Al-kawkab Al-sati’ Nadhmu Jam’ul Jawami’ for Al Suyuti” and “Al-Durrah Al Baheah Nadhm Ajrumiyyah”, “Millennium of Al-Suyuti”, “Nozom Al-Waraqat for Amreeti”, “Chapters in Prophet Biography for Ibn Kathir”, “Al-Adab Al-Mufrad for Al-Bukhari” and “Riyadh as-Saaliheen” in addition to the Sadiq Al-Bukhari recital session, which is held every Wednesday at Masjid Al Walidayn in Al Mamzar.
It’s worth noting that the Education and Religious Guidance Department organized more than 2800 programs and events during the first half of this year, which witnessed high attendance from its target groups.
