Carrefour’s Back To School Campaign Reveals Healthy Eating And Smart Learning To Be The Most Popular Consumer Trends
Carrefour, which is operated in the UAE by Majid Al Futtaim has recently launched its “Ready Steady Back to School” campaign based on insights that found smart learning and healthy eating to be the most popular consumer trends this year. In response, the retailer is collaborating with the Ministry of Health and Prevention, and clinical dietician and nutritionist Lama Alnaeli, to launch “Healthy Lunchbox”, and host in store activities aimed at combating childhood obesity. Carrefour is also offering 50% off a wide range of products to ensure students receive the tools required to succeed in the modern classroom.
The in-store educational workshops, held in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Prevention, are led by UAE-based nutritionists who will demonstrate to parents how to prepare healthy lunch boxes for their children. This comes in line with the National Agenda to Combat Childhood Obesity as announced by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. These workshops are free to attend and are taking place at City Centre Ajman, Manar Mall in Ras Al Khaimah, City Centre Fujairah and the MOHAP building in Dubai.*
Philippe Peguilhan, Country Manager of Carrefour UAE at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, said: “While we lead the industry by maintaining a seamless shopping experience both at the best value and of the freshest quality, we also want to ensure the wellbeing of our community members. With the support of the Ministry of Health and Prevention as well as leading nutritionists, I am confident that we can make a positive impact in helping customers lead healthier lifestyles and continue to create great moments for them everyday.”
Carrefour is also partnering with clinical dietician and nutritionist, Lama Alnaeli, to run a healthy lunchbox roadshow across select hypermarkets, aimed at educating families on how to pack an easy and healthy lunchbox for their children. These workshops are free to attend and are taking place at Mall of the Emirates, and Dubai Festival City in Dubai.**
The second trend as per Carrefour’s data reveals an average of 11000 electronic items sold per year in the last three back to school sales. The data also found that customers are also increasingly interested in ditching their laptops and are opting for more portable versions including notepads, tablets. This comes as schools are opting for more tech-savvy methods of learning. As such, customers will be able to take advantage of even more offers at greater value this year. Carrefour’s MyCLUB customers in particular, will receive more loyalty points in select IT accessories, such as keyboards, computer mouses, notebook bags, toners cartridges, and more.
To celebrate the new school year, customers are welcome to use the hashtag #ReadySteadyBacktoSchool and #GreatMoments to show how they are preparing for a year to remember. For more inspiration, customers can visit www.carrefouruae.com or follow Carrefour on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
