The Dubai Business Women Council (DBWC) and a high-level European delegation yesterday (Wednesday) discussed ways to foster mutual cooperation and develop networking mechanisms with business communities.

The business delegation, which involved 11 businessmen and women representing some of the most prominent startups in Europe, including France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, Estonia and Italy, was received at the headquarters of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Upon arrival, members of the visiting delegation headed by Mr. Igor LYS, Founder and CEO, Gambit were welcomed by HE Dr Raja Al Gurg, President of Dubai Business Women Council, and a number of DBWC board members and members who represented a number of local business communities.

The delegates included chairmen and executive directors of European companies specialized in consulting solutions, marketing, digital communication, artificial intelligence, big data, financial technology, real estate and e-commerce as well as financial investments.

During a roundtable discussion, the council briefed its guests on Dubai’s investment opportunities and discussed the possibility of establishing business partnerships and ways to bridge economic ties, taking advantage of international expertise.

In her opening statement, HE Dr Raja Al Gurg laid emphasis on the role played by Dubai Business Women Council in empowering women and building communication bridges with various economic sectors of the world’s countries.

“Dubai Businesswomen have achieved phenomenal success thanks to the stimulating and motivating work environment made available for them. The UAE’s wise leadership has spared no expense and provided all factors of success to help women play their full part in the country’s development”, she added.

Dr Al Gurg went on to say: “Thanks to its state-of-the-art infrastructure and unparalleled services, Dubai has become an ideal destination for global business partnerships, which further reaffirms its position as a global economic capital. It is also the world’s first destination for tolerance, where there are more than 200 different nationalities working and coexisting in harmony.

Make no mistake, this would be credited to Dubai’s competitive advantages, advanced infrastructure, diversified investment opportunities and surely its wise government that recognizes the requirements of the business community and spares no efforts to engage the private sector in true partnerships.

The DBWC President further said: “At today’s meeting, we are going to discuss joint investment opportunities, and introduce Dubai’s most prominent businesswomen. It is yet another perfect opportunity to highlight our interests in advancing our economic cooperation and mutual coordination”.

“We are very much keen to catapult our mutual trade and investment relations into new levels, develop strong ties with the business sector and promote Dubai’s great business potential, that could effectively meet the needs of female entrepreneurs thanks to being up to date with global economic changes” Dr Al Gurg concluded.

Praising the outcomes of the meeting, Igor LYS, Founder and CEO, Gambit, said: “The excellent reputation of Dubai, its leading business community and achievements, have turned it into a major player not only in the regional economy but also that of the world, and definitely not enough people in Europe are fully aware of that. Therefore our European delegation decided to visit Dubai and demystify it.” he added.

During the meeting, the council showcased its services and initiatives, which are tailored to serve businesswomen, including a variety of specialized and modern professional training programmes, in addition to a series of more than 50 annual events that all together pave the way for exchanging experiences and setting up business partnerships.

Established in 2002 under the umbrella of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), the Dubai Business Women Council is the official representative of businesswomen in Dubai. It aims to provide support and care to female entrepreneurs, who are taking their first step into the business world. It also plays a pivotal role in boosting the contribution of businesswomen to the country’s economy and promoting economic development in all sectors.
