Meet the comedians
Barry Hilton: Thirty years of touring, six children, two ex-wives, a new wife, six DVDS, two movies, Vegas, Cleese, Connolly, millions of air miles and a Lifetime Achiever statue on his mantelpiece. If Barry Hilton isn’t the quintessential South African comedy giant, no one is. Forged in the fire of the global comedy circuit from London to Hong Kong, this versatile and dynamic comedy icon works the room with magnetic charm and infectious ease. His deft timing and tap-dancing mind leave any crowd thrilled that they came, regardless of their own background. In true Barry fashion, he followed that up with a phenomenal sold-out two-hour performance at the iconic Sydney Opera House in 2016. Hilton describes this performance as a career highlight, while ex-patriot South Africans and Australians alike gave rave reviews, including the accolades: “Stellar, first class and thoroughly entertaining”
Rikki Jay: Rikki’s break into television in the UK came in the ‘90’s through London Weekend Television’s The Big Big Talent Show. From this, he went on to make guest appearances on Talking Telephone Numbers, Gagging For It for LWT, Net. Rikki was honoured to be presented with the Variety Club ‘Premier Artiste’ award and is also a patron for ‘The Garage Theatre School’ in England.
Patrick Monahan: Audience favorite and Irish-Iranian descendant, Patrick Monahan blends a high energy comedy style with hilarious and engaging topical and observational material. Known for working a room, Patrick is adored by his audiences with whom he makes an effortless connection. In 2012, he took part in Let’s Dance for Sports Relief on BBC, won Best Newcomer at the Loaded LAFTA Awards and Forth Radio Best Stand-Up People’s Choice Award for his hit show ‘Hug Me I Feel Good’. This critically acclaimed comedian is not to be missed.
