Dubai Chamber-Amazon Joint Webinar Examines Best Practices And Tips For Selling Online
Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Amazon recently held a joint webinar that highlighted the benefits and competitive advantages of selling online in the current business landscape reshaped by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The virtual workshop was attended by 330 participants, representing businesses operating various economic sectors, including retail, electronics and food and beverages, among others.
Presentations delivered by Jasmin Frick, Head of Seller Growth & Success at Amazon MENA; and Mireia Garcia Casas, Regional Manager of Seller Promotions at Amazon MENA; examined recent e-commerce trends, as well as best practices and tips on how to set up a seller profile on Amazon and generate sales through the portal.
HE Hamad Buamim, President and CEO of Dubai Chamber, noted that the webinar and partnership with Amazon complements Dubai Chamber’s efforts to help companies in Dubai build an online presence and unlock new business opportunities.
He pointed to recent trends showing growing momentum behind e-commerce following restrictions brought forth by the Covid-19 outbreak, and noted that online businesses have fared better under the current circumstances, due to their agile nature and ability to do business beyond borders.
“As social distancing becomes the norm, e-commerce is important than ever before. It is up to businesses now to enhance their competitive edge by leveraging digital channels to reach customers,” said Buamim.
Addressing participants during the webinar, Hassan Al Hashemi, Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chamber, highlighted the far-reaching benefits of selling include, which include operational flexibility, scalability and lower operating costs.
He described Dubai Chamber as a role model for the private sector companies embracing digital transformation as the Chamber has shifted 98% of its basic services to digital channels, a move, which he says had helped it ensure business continuity.
“E-commerce is becoming a fundamental part of business, as opposed to just an extension of it. We are providing our members with the knowledge and tools they need to build successful online businesses,” Al Hashemi added.
