Fresh off last week’s victory on the Fire course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, Antoine Rozner is looking to sign off on 2020 with victory on the Earth course at the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, Dubai.

The Frenchman is riding a hot hand having won with a 25 under par total on Saturday and is relishing the prospect of making his Rolex Series debut this week.

“I’ve never played the Earth course but I’ve watched the DP World Tour Championship a lot of times on TV and so to be able to play and compete there should be a lot of fun,” said Rozner, who won by two strokes at the inaugural Golf in Dubai Championship presented by DP World.

As a rookie on the European Tour this season after earning his card via last year’s Challenge Tour Rankings, Rozner had lofty ambitions to qualify for the season-ending event when the 2020 season got underway.

“It was definitely a goal of mine to get into the DP World Tour Championship, especially knowing that I wasn’t likely to play in any of the Rolex Series events throughout the season because of my exemption category on Tour,” he said. “It was a good target to have and I completed it nicely.”

Rozner is determined not to just make up the numbers as the likes of Patrick Reed, Tommy Fleetwood and Collin Morikawa arrive in Dubai to compete in the final Rolex Event of the season.

“I’m going to try and finish as high as possible – just like every week,” he said. “My game is in good shape, so why not? I’m going to enjoy it and finish the best I can.

“It’s going to be a big week for me – my biggest event of the year and my first Rolex Series event. Everyone is going to want to play well and I’m excited to play because there’s a lot on offer like World Ranking points in addition to the Race to Dubai points, so it should be a fun experience for me.”

The DP World Tour Championship gets underway on Thursday on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates and is the fourth Rolex Series event of the 2020 European Tour season.

Attendance will be for invited guests only. Golf fans can follow the action on the Dubai Sports channel in the UAE or by tuning into their local network as well as staying up to date with all of the action at www.europeantour.com and on the European Tour’s social media channels.
