Italian Designers Promoting Sustainable Living At Downtown Design
A delegation of six companies from the Italian Region of Lazio are presenting products that encourage sustainability and sustainable living during the eighth edition of Downtown Design, which is currently underway until 12 November in the Dubai Design District (d3).
Innovation and sustainability are the pillars supporting Italian companies on their path of social, technological and industrial progress. The manufactures from the Lazio region are participating in the event through Lazio Innova and in collaboration with ADI-Association for Industrial Design and its delegation of ADI Lazio.
The innovations on offer range from smart technology to mobility, home furnishings to service design, and from boating and aeronautics to food design; all combining functionality and aesthetics and sustainability. The space at the event has been created using products and materials made entirely from 100% recycled and recyclable cardboard, which was produced by Formaperta, and is a project that adheres to the philosophy of the Circular Economy.
All the companies from Lazio at Downtown Design are ADI members and or have been selected for the ADI Design Index 2020, while others have received the Excellence in Lazio Award created in collaboration with the region.
Paolo Orneli, Lazio Region’s Councillor for Economic Development, Commerce and Handicraft, University, Research, Start-Up and Innovation said, “These companies represent an extraordinary resource for Made In Italy. Downtown Design is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the best that Italy has to offer in this sector through sustainable design and the circular economy.
