Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled a new badges’ system designed for field employees. This initiative aims to boost the performance of over 650 field employees encountering unique challenges, such as extreme summer temperatures & other risks, and undertaking unique jobs, unlike other job categories across the RTA.

Athari Mohammed, Director of Human Resources and Development, Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector at RTA, stated, “At RTA, we recognise human capital as our most valuable asset and believe it underlines all achievements we make. It’s crucial to foster a positive work environment that not only boosts employee satisfaction and loyalty but also equips them with the tools needed for enhanced performance, excellence, and creativity. Fieldwork forms a fundamental aspect of RTA’s operations, which is why we have introduced the Field Employee Badge System. This system is designed to acknowledge the contributions of our field staff and to assess their performance through this distinctive system.”

“The badge is awarded based on specific criteria including performance assessment, years of service, professional record, and other system-stipulated requirements,” she noted.

“This system is a part of RTA’s work happiness initiatives targeting employees, especially those undertaking field roles that are integral to vital sectors such as transport security, roads, and infrastructure. These employees also assume a host of law-enforcement roles relating to transport activities, licensing, and the commercial transport sector. RTA is making every effort to enhance services in these areas as part of endeavours to achieve its vision as the World Leader in Seamless and Sustainable Mobility,” added Athari.

The system’s launch was attended by several RTA leaders and field staff.
