Get ready for a Stormzy Sunday at the Emirates Dubai 7s festival weekend this December.

Organisers of the most anticipated festival weekend of the year have today announced that global award-winning artist, Stormzy, will headline on Sunday 1 December 2024, bringing the 3-day festival to a spectacular close. Held from Friday 29 November – Sunday 1 December 2024 – the biggest-ever Dubai 7s to date will wrap up just ahead of the UAE National Day holiday for UAE residents, on Monday 2 December.

The British rapper and singer-songwriter will take over the Frequency on 8 stage to perform a series of his iconic hits such as ‘Big for your Boots’, ‘Shut Up’ and ‘Vossi Bop’, exclusively for the Dubai audience at The Sevens Stadium, Dubai.

Additionally, on day two of the festival, Saturday 30 November, fans will also have the unique opportunity to catch Stormzy off-stage, as he switches up his microphone for his padel racket to compete against his friends in a mini tournament. Taking place on the padel courts amid the festival site at The Sevens Stadium, guests can head over to watch Stormzy, and his crew battle it out on the court.

Stormzy is a multi-award-winning musician from South London, England. His three albums to date each finished at #1 in the UK album chart, with the former two subsequently being nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize. In addition to his remarkable success in music, Stormzy is also a powerful advocate for youth empowerment and driving greater opportunities for underprivileged communities, particularly in sports. His football careers initiative #Merky FC, in partnership with Adidas, aims to increase diversity in sports management by promoting wider accessibility to leadership roles and emphasising the need for equal representation in the industry.

Emirates Dubai 7s Festival Director, Mathew Tait said: ” Stormzy is one of the biggest names in music and we couldn’t think of anyone better to close our biggest festival to date. The Dubai 7s is always a fun-packed weekend with something for everyone and there is no doubt that Stormzy’s impact will be huge for each one of our festival go-ers. Not only are we all excited to see Stormzy on the stage and on the padel court, but I also urge fans to stay tuned for more exciting announcements from us in the lead up to the long weekend!”

This year’s festival promises a full line-up of A-list performances from a host of international and local artists and DJs, each set to create an electrifying atmosphere that blends sport and entertainment for the whole family. More headliners will be announced in the lead up to the event as well as more exciting news from the world of rugby, cricket, F&B and more.
