After capturing hearts with his debut last month, Salam, Dubai Safari Park’s newest white rhino calf, is now taking center stage for a month-long community celebration. Following Save the Rhino Day on May 1st, the park has launched the Month of Salam – a series of special initiatives dedicated to conservation and peace.

To mark the occasion, Dubai Safari Park is looking for the calf’s human namesakes to join the festivities. The park is giving away complimentary tickets to guests named Salam or Salama via a competition on the website [LINK]inviting them to visit their wild counterpart before the season wraps up.

Don’t share his name? In the spirit of Salam, the park is giving everyone an opportunity to get involved. Share a message of peace on the park’s Instagram for the chance to win a Safari Bundle ticket[LINK].

Beyond the ticket giveaways, the Month of Salam initiative highlights the ongoing work of Dubai Safari Park’s endangered species breeding programs. White rhinos are currently classified as Near Threatened by the IUCN, making every birth a significant milestone for global biodiversity. Salam is the second calf born at the park, following the birth of Onyx in 2024, and stands as a testament to the park’s conservation efforts.

By inviting the Salams, Salamas, and wildlife enthusiasts of the UAE in honor of the new calf, the park aims to foster a deeper, more personal connection to wildlife protection. The month serves as the grand finale to a successful Season 7, offering guests a final opportunity to visit before the park closes for the summer on May 31st.
