The far reaching effects of our complete disregard of the environment and the plight of modern-day slavery still practiced in many parts of the world formed the themes of the concluding discussions of the Sharjah International Photography Festival Xposure 2017. The festival’s guest photographers came together to create visual awareness about these pressing issues through the award-winning works they have produced throughout their careers

Titled ‘Environmental Madness’, a panel discussion featuring HE Ali Khalifa bin Thalith, celebrated Emirati photographer and filmmaker; Kathy Moran, Nat Geo’s Senior Editor of natural history projects; wildlife photojournalist and marine biologist Paul Nicklen; and conservation photographer Cristina Mittermeier, presented the stark environmental realities that face the world today.
