Dubai Safari Park is wild about learning this December, offering guests a series of wildlife conservation and edutainment activities.

Friends of the Wild: Dubai Safari Park received over 3,200 entries for its online contest ‘Friends of the Wild’, launched earlier this December. As part of the competition, participants were asked to choose an animal they wish to get to know better amongst: Dalia, the 24-year-old giraffe; Apollo the owl; Leo the lion; Baja the Komodo dragon (an endangered species), Onyx, the baby rhino; or the twin moon bear cubs born this year. Six lucky winners were named ‘Keeper for a Day’ and got the chance to learn firsthand how to take care of their new best friend.

Building on the success of this initiative, Dubai Safari Park launched its first Friends of the Wild Winter Camp. From 16 to 27 December, children aged 6 to14 experienced a unique edutainment adventure that included workshops and activities centred on animal care, sustainability, and conservation. Thoughtfully designed to inspire the next generation of wildlife heroes, the camp introduced essential topics such as environmental health and animal care in a fun and digestible way. By encouraging empathy for animals and building connections to the natural world, the Winter Camp aimed to inspire a deeper understanding of and commitment to protecting our planet.

Giving Nature:As part of its efforts to instill values of care and compassion for animals among its young visitors and provide them with an active role in supporting animal welfare this winter, Dubai Safari Park has launched the “Giving Nature” initiative. Through this initiative, children are invited to donate their used or new toys as gifts to their favorite animals until the end of January.

This initiative offers children a meaningful way to contribute to animal welfare. Additionally, the names of participating children will be displayed on the “Giving Nature” tree, located at the designated toy drop-off area, as a token of appreciation for their generosity and efforts.

Wild Nights: Launched on 13 December, the region’s only Night Safari has quickly garnered exceptional traction from guests and will continue offering a unique experience until 12 January 2025. Visitors can take advantage of this exclusive opportunity to witness and learn about the evening routines of over 90 species of nocturnal animals, including lions, tigers and many more. As animal welfare is Dubai Safari Park’s top priority, careful measures have been implemented to ensure that the natural routines and ecosystems of the animals are not disturbed during the night safari. Only nocturnally active species are included in the experience, allowing guests to observe them in their most natural state.

Dubai Safari Park is on a mission to educate guests about wildlife and inspire them to care about the environment. Stay tuned for more exciting and edutaining activities in 2025.
