Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate’s Flagship Destination Dubai Festival City Honors Front Liners In #LightItBlue Campaign
Healthcare professional and front liners across the UAE and in Dubai Festival City, are working very hard to keep the community safe. To salute their commitment, dedication and sacrifices in such unprecedented times, Dubai Festival City, Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate’s fully integrated mega project, joined other landmarks across the UAE on 16th April, as part of the global #LightItBlue initiative, to shine a light on those who are working tirelessly every day.
Following the campaign’s late March launch in the United Kingdom and subsequent expansion to the United States last week, global supporters now include Italy, France, Spain, Australia, and the Middle East. In a time of global isolation and uncertainty, the campaign aims to create a universal moment of solidarity and support to the unsung heroes.
Various Al-Futtaim entities in Dubai Festival City came together in support of the initiative and projected the color blue on its buildings. This includes Dubai Festival City Mall, Intercontinental Hotel, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Holiday Inn and Marsa Plaza.
With the recent opening of the Al-Futtaim HealthHub Covid19 drive through screening centers across Dubai including one at Dubai Festival City, the destination is contributing to the healthcare community in the UAE and supporting its employees and their families with medical assistance.
Abdallah Hageali, Group Director, Mixed-Use Real Estate, Al-Futtaim said, ‘At Dubai Festival City, we are committed to keeping the community safe and comfortable. The participation in the #LightItBlue initiative comes as part of our #BeAloneTogether program which has rolled out In our Festival City destinations in Dubai and Cairo to support the communities in these challenging times – as an ongoing contribution of the group towards sustaining support towards our partners and community.
The #BeAloneTogether program focuses on Dubai Festival City’s commitment towards providing emotional support to residents, tenants, employees and stakeholders and ensuring preventive measures are implemented in accordance with the government initiatives remaining proactive in every possible way to keep the destination safe.
He added, ‘We want to thank our silent heroes – housekeeping staff, cleaners, security, healthcare workers across the destination for all the sleepless nights put in to contribute to the fight to make the UAE Covid-19 free. By lighting up the destination in blue, we are showing our gratitude towards their efforts and risking their own lives just to make sure ours is safe.’
The #LightItBlue volunteer effort has been organized by a collective of leaders from the global events and entertainment industry to show appreciation and gratitude for the health workers and front liners who have helped millions of people around the world that are impacted by this pandemic.
The campaign invites everyone to join by creating blue-themed images or videos and share them online on their social platforms.
