Anisha Misra, the talented fashion designer behind the brand Anisha Misra, is set to debut her inaugural spring/summer collection at an exclusive fashion soire to showcase her first collection Antiquity Revived.

Taking place on 17 April, the fashion show celebrating the launch of the brand will take place at Sass Cafe, Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC).

Strongly inspired by historical textiles, architecture and antiques, the spring/summer collection by the Anisha Misra label will unveil hand stitched gowns and outfits made using beautiful fabrics, and innovative design details. The debut collection will consist of 19 brilliantly fashioned and unique pieces to fit formal occasions; made in rich colors reflecting the golden era of the 80’s and 90’s.

In order to offer UAE and Gulf women with contemporary elegant options, the collection will capture the essence of Dubai by creating a balance of classic luxury and modernity and making use of materials such as pure silk satins, embellished nets, chiffons, French Chantilly lace, Korean lace as well as acetates specially manufactured in Korea.

Speaking about the upcoming launch of her brand and collection, Anisha Misra, said: I am extremely excited to finally take my next big step in the fashion industry. My first collection, as with most designers, is very close to my heart because it focuses on occasion wear and formal attire. I have focused on creating weightless pieces, so that one can walk confidently in them, and a lot of the pieces in this collection are designed to open out and flutter away as the wearer strides forward. It puts me off when I see women in gowns that weigh them down. I have always loved classic gowns that are simple, but use really great fabrics; outfits that accentuate a woman’s natural curves, that flow and that have lot of movement when the wearer walks which is what my first collection is all about.

Speaking about her inspiration behind the debut collection, Anisha further elaborated: My first collection takes inspiration from different facets of my life. As a child, I was always fascinated by my parents glamorous photographs of their travels around the world wearing regal clothes so that was part of my inspiration. Apart from that – my Indian background, my time growing up here in the Middle East seeing local women wearing beautiful flowing abayas, my travels around Asia and Europe, and my love for historical textiles, architecture and antiques have inspired this collection.

Anisha Misra’s debut collection is created for a woman who carries herself like a work of art, who is fashionable, elegant, graceful, yet powerful. Whilst being an occasion wear collection, the design philosophy of the label is reflected in each outfit making sure that each piece is regal yet light, easy to carry and pleasing to the eye.
