It was a night of fine whiskey and chatter as guests were welcomed into the mesmerizing popular restaurant Morimoto by world-renowned Chef Masaharu. Morimoto has created a bridge between the culinary traditions of his native Japan and the American palate, bringing intense excitement, exquisite technique, and perfectly balanced flavors to thousands of diners throughout the world. He has garnered critical and popular acclaim for his seamless integration of Western and Japanese ingredients and has effectively created a signature style that positions him as one of today’s foremost chefs.
The guests were moved during the last leg of the night into a private dining room, which was beautifully decorated by the Ascots and Chapels and Chivas branding. Joe Shields guided guests on basic etiquette of whiskey tasting and guests experienced first hand, the session where the 18-year-old Chivas was served at chilled and room temperature to the guests and as the evening progressed guests were provided in-depth mentoring by the host, on the ways to swirl, taste and chew your drink as to derive the most out of the whiskey tasting.
